Today, H.E. Ambassador Mariana Madeira was at the official launch of the second edition of the Afro Gastro Festival and National Heritage Photography Competition at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra.

Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, the initiative celebrates Africa’s rich culinary heritage, creative expression, and domestic tourism. The Embassy is honoured to join this important cultural moment, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening cultural ties and fostering dialogue through shared traditions, gastronomy, and creativity between Brazil and Ghana.

Today, H.E. Ambassador Mariana Madeira, accompanied by First Secretary Mr. Rodrigo Wiese Randing and local staff of the Embassy of Brazil, paid a courtesy visit to the Tabon Council of Elders to convey heartfelt condolences and honour the memory of the late Tabon Mantse, Nii Azumah V (Mr. James Abdulai Nelson).

H.E. Mariana Madeira received H.E. Dr. Erieka Bennett, Founder of the Diaspora Africa Forum, together with Mr. Ajoyemi Olabissi Osunleye, cultural entrepreneur, during a courtesy call last week.

Discussions focused on the Heritage Voyage of Return (HVR), a transformative initiative aimed at reconnecting Africa, Brazil, the Americas, and the Caribbean through cultural remembrance, healing, and diaspora engagement, while strengthening Afro-Brazilian ties and shared historical connections.

The Ambassador of Brazil to Ghana, H.E. Mariana Madeira together with the delegation of Petrobras, was received yesterday at the office of the Honourable Minister for Energy and Green Transition of Ghana, John Abdulai Jinapor.

The meeting provided an opportunity for constructive exchanges on advancing Brazil–Ghana cooperation in the energy sector, with emphasis on oil and gas exploration and investment.

The Embassy expresses its appreciation to the Ministry of Energy for the warm reception and continued collaboration.

PEC-G 2027 – Applications Open
(Pre-selection Phase)

The Embassy of Brazil in Accra is pleased to announce that applications for the Undergraduate Exchange Program (PEC-G 2027) are now open.

Ghanaian students interested in pursuing undergraduate studies in Brazil are invited to apply from 31st March, 2026 to 9th May, 2026.

The Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação (PEC-G) offers nationals of developing countries, with which Brazil maintains educational, cultural, and scientific and technological cooperation agreements, the opportunity to undertake undergraduate studies at Brazilian Higher Education Institutions.
Please note that the scholarship covers tuition fees only. Selected candidates (or their sponsors/guardians) are responsible for all other expenses, including accommodation, airfare, transportation, and living costs in Brazil.
