The Comptroller-General of Immigration, (CGI) Kwame Asuah Takyi,(Esq.) has visited the Aframso inland checkpoint in the Ashanti Region to assess the logistical deployment and also boost the morale of the officers .

Interacting with officers, the CGI commended their hard work and dedication. He enphasized the importance of vigilance and professionalism to prevent any potential secuirty threat during the general elections

Inland checkpoints, like Aframso plays a vital role in border security as it serves as a second layer in apprehending illegal migrants who may enter the country through unapproved route.

As Ghana prepares for elections, the importance of these inland checkpoints cannot be understated.

CGI Takyi (Esq.) visited several locations during the 8th day of his tour of the 5 Northern Regions. These locations included the Hamile Border Post, Fielmon unapproved Route, Nandom Municipal Office, Lawra Municipal Office, and Pabile Inland Checkpoint.

During his visit, he also met with security personnel at the Burkina Faso side of the Hamile Border Post. He encouraged them to continue working in harmony with their Ghanaian counterparts.

On the 7th day of his tour to the five Northern Regions, the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (CGI), Kwame Asuah Takyi (Esq.), paid a courtesy visit to the Wa Naa’s Palace. During the visit, the Wa Naa kindly gifted the Service 100 acres of land, which the CGI graciously received on behalf of the Service. He expressed the service's gratitude to Wa Naa for the gesture.

The Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (CGI) Kwame Asuah Takyi (ESQ) on day Six (6) of his tour to the five (5) Northern Regions, visited the Upper West Regional Headquarters, Tumu Sector Command, Naro Inland Checkpoint, Lane Inland Checkpoint and Douane Inland Checkpoint all under the Upper West Regional Command. He urged all the Security Agencies working together at the various borders to collaborate and to work together in the interest of mother Ghana and also to build trust with the various community members to ensure a high level of collaboration between Border Security Agencies and Community members in an effort to tighten controls at Ghana’s borders.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI) Kwame Asuah Takyi (ESQ) on day five (5) of his tour to the Five (5) Northern Regions, visited and inspected the Nakpanduri Inland Checkpoint, Bunkpurugu Border Post and Wonjuga Border Post all in the North East Region.

He entreated Officers to continuously engage with border residence and also stakeholders within the border communities to ensure greater collaboration amongst them, and he further admonished Officers to show a high sense of discipline and professionalism even as they interact with the community members.

The Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (CGI) Kwame Asuah Takyi (ESQ) on day Four (4) of his tour to the five (5) northern Regions, commissioned a renovated Pulimakom Sector Command and Mognori Border Post. He also inspected the Kulungugu, Zebila and Missiga Border Posts all in the Upper East Region. The CGI advised that, Officers maintain high professional standards and also collaborate with members of the border communities to build trust.

(3) of his tour to the five (5) Northern Regions, visted the Upper East Region where he paid a courtesy call on the Paga Pio's palace and Paga Border Post, the Navrongo Municipal office and the Kandiga Inland Checkpoint all under the Paga Sector Command. At various Immigration installations he visited, he admonish Officers to adhere to professional standards and also be very alert at the borders and ensure that the borders are well protected and safe. The CGI also visted, the Tongraan's, Palace- Talensi, Gware unapproved route Ghana/ Burkina boundary and the walk way unapporved route all under the Upper East Regional Command.
