THE BIGGER PICTURE VIII

With Apostle Mac Vava

1 Samuel 9:5 (NIV)

When they reached the district of Zuph, Saul said to the servant who was with him, “Come, let’s go back, or my father will stop thinking about the donkeys and start worrying about us.”

Many people begin their journey with good intentions. They pursue education, careers, business opportunities, marriage, or financial stability. None of these pursuits is wrong. The danger comes when the pursuit begins to change the person.

Jesus asked a timeless question: “What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?” The greatest tragedy is not failing to achieve your dreams; it is achieving them while losing your character, your faith, or your intimacy with God.

Today, take a moment to examine your heart. Are you chasing something that is slowly pulling you away from God? God is far more interested in who you are becoming than in what you are pursuing. Don’t lose yourself looking for what is lost.

Declaration
Lord, lead my steps and guide my ways.

THE BIGGER PICTURE VII

Text: Isaiah 55:9 (NIV)
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Another interesting meaning of the word “ways”, translated from the Hebrew word “derek,” is manner—God’s mode of operation. It describes how He works. As humans, we often have a preferred way for things to happen. We imagine what our breakthrough should look like, where our help should come from, and when our prayers should be answered.

However, God is not limited by our methods, our timelines, or our imagination. He fed Elijah through ravens, spoke through a donkey, sustained Israel with manna from heaven, made a highway through the Red Sea, transported Jonah through a fish, and broke prison chains through praises.

The bigger picture is this: God can use anyone, anywhere, anyhow, at any time to accomplish His purpose. His provision does not follow human logic—it follows His wisdom. God’s manna always falls according to God’s manner.

Declaration
Testimonies flow into my life from unexpected quarters, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
