I led our dear youth wing in the constituency to organise a car washing event in Agona Nkwanta, the capital of our constituency yesterday.
We embarked on this event as part of activities marking our country’s 66th Independence Day celebrations.
The Youth Wing of the NDC gave back to society by providing free car đźš— washing services to over 157 vehicles and tricycles. We also provided refreshments and entertainment along with some snacks.
Through this, we were able to meet and interact with hundreds of citizens of Ahanta West to share with them the message of hope of the National Democratic Congress and to urge them to be steadfast in the face of the unprecedented hardships brought onto all of us through the economic mismanagement of the Akufo Addo- Bawumia led NPP government.
Indeed, so bad is the country’s economic situation that for the first time as a constituency, the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly couldn’t even afford to provide refreshments for the school children and the security personnel who stood in the scotch sun, marching to mark our country’s independence.
This country urgently needs change.
The NDC has a superior record in the Ahanta West constituency. A good majority of all the infrastructure that supports Ahanta West and its people- from education, health, and electricity among others- was built by our party under President Rawlings, President Mills and John Dramani Mahama.
Going into the crucial election of 2024, we in the youth wing of the NDC in Ahanta West would work hard to tell this story to convince a majority of people in our dear constituency that we need change both at the constituency level and the country at large.
I thank all our comrades who attended and supported us; the Regional Youth Organiser, Alhaji Mustapha Iddrisu, one of his deputies, Samuel Amoah, our Regional Deputy Communications officer, Constituency executives led by Chairman Johnson, the host of branch executives and the many ordinary people of Ahanta West who came to show us support.
Signed
Leonard Kobina Essien
