PRESENTATION OF CREDENTIALS: H.E. Mrs. Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata presented her letters of Credence to His Exellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, accrediting her as the High Commissioner of Namibia to the Republic of Ghana, today, the 31st March 2026, at the Ghanaian Presidency.

President Mahama welcomed her to Ghana and said he is looking forward to working with the new High Commissioner to elevate the Bilateral cooperation between the two states. He, further implored on measure to increase the balance of Trade between the two states through the African Continental Free Trade Area. He again emphasised the key areas of cooperation which includes Agriculture, Education, Tourism and Culture.

Furthermore, the Ghanaian President, expressed appreciation for Namibia's support in the United Nations Resolution on Transatlantic Slave Trade which he presented in the General Assembly recently, in New York. He stated that Namibia's positions on African matters continues to be commendable, and that they never doubted Namibia's position on the matter.

In her remarks, the High Commissioner concurred with the President's sentiments on the enhancement of bilateral relations in key areas of cooperation. She further highlighted the need for visa waiver for ordinary passport holders, to ensure free movement of people in order to increase Trade cooperation. She also noted the importance of enhanced cooperation in the fields of agriculture and TVET, amongst others.

On 18th February, Mrs. Ndiyakupi Ngituwamata, Namibia High Commissioner - Designate to the Republic of Ghana, presented her Copies of the Letters of Commission to Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Ghana.

During the meeting, Mrs. Nghituwamata expressed the need to explore cooperation in areas such as Agriculture, Oil, industry and Vocational Training amongst others.

On his part, Hon. Ablakwa welcomed the High Commissioner Designate and noted the need for visible cooperation between the two states.

The two parties concurred on the low Balance of Trade and Investment between the two countries and emphasised the need to take advantage of opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area where both are members.

INTER-CULTURAL FESTIVAL || On 14th February 2026, Staff of the Namibia High Commission participated in the Inter-Cultural Festival of the Galaxy International school. The event was held under the theme "Legacy of Culture" and reflected the dedication to fostering intercultural dialogue.

At the event, the High Commission showcased Namibian products, services, and tourism undertakings.

AFRICA-AFRICA FORUM 2025 ||

First Secretary - Political and Economic, Ms. Jaqueline Hindjou, attended the First edition of the Africa-Africa Forum in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 17-18 December 2025.The forums was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad in partnership with Burkinabe business community.

It was held under the theme โ€˜ Strategic Sovereignty and the Emergence of African Championsโ€™. The aim was to bring African members states, decision makers, economic, civil society and business personalities to reflect and consult on various African development challenges and African integration.

During his opening remarks, Hon. Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, emphasized the importance of developmental transformation of African goods and services. He stated that while sovereignty is important for member states, there is the need to change the narrative of Africa's development with regard to value addition.

The forum consisted of various panel discussions such the influence of Diplomacy on African developmental agenda and value addition to raw materials.

The Staff of Namibia High Commission attended the just ended 3rd Volta Young Entrepreneurs Forum held in Ho.

This year's forum was held on the theme " Empowering Volta's Young Entrepreneurs for Global Partnerships and a Thriving 24-Hour Economy".

The discussions focused on preparing Young people for sustainable future and to ensure that they are not only job creators but key drivers of national economic growth.

The Keynote speaker, Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr John Dumelo urged the young people of Volta Region to take advantage of the opportunities in Agriculture in order to ensure the reduction of Ghana's overdependence on imported products.

The High Commission participated in the Maiden Volta Investment Summit held in Ho; on the theme " Volta Rising: Building Global Partnerships for a Thriving 24-Hour Economy."

Officiating the event, Presidential Special Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy, Mr Augustus Goosie Tanoh, emphasised the importance of harnessing partnerships, innovation and local resources to drive the Volta Region's economic transformation.

On his part, the Volta Regional Minister, Mr James Gunu, highlighted key benefits of the 24-hour Economy Trade and Investment fair, which includes investor attraction, promotion of local products, tourism development and SME capacity building among others
