As part of our activities to support the ‘It is Possible’ to break the eight (8) campaign Led by Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and rally behind Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) , yesterday October 19, 2024 we conducted a health screening exercise at Apowa Market in the Ahanta West Constituency, Western Region which was aimed at identifying and addressing common health conditions among the local population.
The exercise offered free health assessments such as Malaria, blood pressure, Diabetes, Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, and vision screening. Persons with expired National Health Insurance Cards had their subscriptions renewed for free as well.
The health screening exercise successfully achieved its objectives of improving health awareness, detecting common health conditions, and providing valuable health education to the community. With over 400 individuals screened and more than 280 expired National Health Insurance Cards renewed, the event had a significant impact on the local population’s well-being.
Many participants received free medication and education on healthy lifestyles and were referred for further treatment where necessary. The event raised health awareness, provided early diagnoses, and received positive feedback.
This initiative was made possible under the able leadership of Abena Kwalah (Fmr. Women Organizer – Western Region) who spearheads the activities of ‘NAPO LADIES W/R’ Volunteer group and was supported by Hon. Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah (Western Regional Minister), Ing. Francis Eric Pobee (Alias Powertech) – Parliamentary Candidate for Ahanta West.
