Safisana and Plan International Ghana teamed up to empower female farmers and market women in Ashaiman through hands-on training in sustainable agriculture and economic independence.
Together with female farmers we built a trellis structure to increase crop growth and improve the effect of organic farming techniques with our Asase Gyefo Premium Organic Fertilizer. This system is especially helpful in increasing exposure to sunlight, promoting air movement, and improving pe*******on of spray.
We spoke with market women in Ashaiman about marketing strategies and product placement to promote organic products. We’ve worked with the community to support health, income, and the environment.
A big thank you to our agronomist, The Eden Agronomist for his guidance and expertise throughout every step of the farmer engagements.

Soil Health
Healthy soils improve crop productivity and ensure enough food is available. It reduces the need (and dependence on) for expensive chemical fertilizers. It helps fight climate change by storing carbon. Lastly, healthy soils protect water sources by preventing erosion and pollution.
In fact, soil health is directly linked to food security, a key goal under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal – . Without healthy soil, it’s impossible to achieve food security in Africa.
For more information, read the post on the website, written by Safisana's Agronomist, The Eden Agronomist Daniel Larkai.

Meet Asase Gyefo's very first brand Ambassador:
"Hi, my name is Emmanuel Tawia, I’m a Ghanaian-American social entrepreneur & farmer who relocated to Ghana to pursue my mission of fostering sustainable eco-tourism in Ghana while championing organic farming practices that benefit both the environment and local communities. By blending the beauty of Ghana’s rich biodiversity with innovative agricultural solutions, I aim to create a harmonious balance between nature, culture, and sustainable development.
Asase Gyefo Premium Organic Fertilizer is central
to my farming initiative, as it aligns with my commitment to organic practices.
As a proud brand ambassador for Asase Gyefo, I use this fertilizer to cultivate nutrient-rich crops like Sapote trees and Baobab trees, along with many other fruit crops I’ve collected from my travels in Jamaica. These crops play a vital role in promoting health and environmental sustainability.
Through these efforts, I aim to inspire others to adopt sustainable practices, protect Ghana’s natural environment, and uplift organic farming communities, creating a lasting impact for generations to come."
