HEAD OF LG SERVICE PROF. LORD MENSAH MAKES A FAMILIARIZATION TOUR.
The Head of Local Government Service, Professor Lord Mensah on Monday, 12th January 2026; paid a working visit to the management and staff of New Juaben South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region. The familiarization tour gave the head of service the opportunity to interact with the staff of the Assembly, know their challenges and find ways of addressing them.
Present at the meeting were the Chief Director of the Local Government; the Head of Service; Prof. Lord Mensah, Mrs. Felicia Dapaah Agyeman, Head of Human Resource Management; Miss. Stella Panwum, Head of Administration; Miss. Golda Asante, Eastern Regional Coordinating Director; Ebenezer Amoah, The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South Municipality; Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, Municipal Coordinating Director; Edward Abazing among others.

DEEN OF MMDCES APPLAUD NDC GOVERNMENT.
The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South, hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, also doubled as the National Deen for all Metropolitan Municipal and District Chief Executives has commended the administration of His Excellency, the President John Dramani Mahamma for committing the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) into projects. According to him such initiative is best to ensure development in every corner of the country.
The MCE made the commendation when he lead the team dubbed "Monitoring and Evaluation Committee" of the Assembly to inspect the progress of physical projects and boreholes which were awarded to contractors in less than Three (3) months.
The projects are the construction of six (6) unit classroom block at the Apimpoa Basic school, Police Basic school at Galloway and recontraction of Agavenya CHIP compound. Other projects were the construction of boreholes in some selected Electoral Areas.
Mr. Owusu Boakye expressed satisfactory on the state of work and commended the contractors for demonstrating professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He said, the contractors have indeed shown commitment to the tasked by completing them before the stipulated time.
This is just the beginning and Ghanaians should rally behind the NDC led administration for massive development. The government was been able to record some development in all Assemblies last, there is going to be more in this year and the ensuing years.
"Yes, the resetting Agenda is uncourse and Ghana will bounce back" the MCE was optimistic.

NJSMCE TAKES COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TO A DIFFERENT LEVEL.
The Municipal Chief Executive, hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye as part of his schedules engaged the Chiefs, opinion leaders, Assembly members of and community members of Nsukwaoso and Tanoso Electoral Areas on Tuesday, 16th December 2025.
The engagement afforded him the opportunity familiarize himself and interact with the constituents, know their challenge and find ways of fussing them into the Assembly's Action Plan.

MCE CAUTIONS CIVIL AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT STAFF AGAINST PARTISAN POLITICS.
The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye has issued a strong caution to civil and Local Government staff of the Assembly, urging them to refrain from engaging in partisan political activities during working hours. He said Civil and Local Government Staff are to remain public servants, be neutral and leave politics for politicians.
Speaking during his maiden interaction with the staff of the Assembly, the MCE emphasized the need for neutrality among public servants. He warned that any display of political affiliation within the workplace would not be tolerated.
The durbar, organised by the management of the Assembly, provided an opportunity for the MCE to familiarize himself with staff members, understand their challenges and explore possible solutions at the management level.
“I will not condone with anyone who displays political colours during office hours. Civil and Local Government Staff must remain neutral in their line of duties. Perhaps, I am the only politician here, representing the President. My role is to help achieve my master’s vision.” He said.
Mr. Owusu Boakye also addressed the issue of punctuality, encouraging staff to adhere strictly to the official working hours. According to him, productivity can only be achieved when staff report to work on time and engage fully in their duties.
For his part, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Edward Abazing reiterated the importance of punctuality and professionalism. He further encouraged staff to uphold the good image of the Assembly, particularly because New Juaben South serves as the regional capital.

KOFORIDUA NEEDS TO BE CLEAN- NJSMCE
The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South HON Ransford Owusu Boakye has asked the people of Koforidua, particularly Night and Weekend traders to ensure that their areas of trading are cleaned after their economic activities.Under no circumstance should one leave behind filth and expect the state to use her resources, all in the name of cleanup exercise.
Mr. Owusu Boakye said made this comment at the just ended clean-up exercise organized by the Assembly.
The exercise heavily attended by the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Council, Daasebre Dr. Kwaku Boateng, the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Awatey, National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Security services, constituency executives of the ruling party (NDC), staff of the Assembly among others.
For his part, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Council, Daasebre Dr. Kwaku Boateng stressed on the need to keep the Municipality clean and reconstruction of the various narrow drains.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Awatey further encouraged the citizens to practice good hygiene in order to prevent diseases within the Regional capital.
"We need to do everything within our mandate to keep the capital clean so we can attract investors in the region" she emphasized.
