One of the primary reasons Asante keeps prevailing and attracting is the hospitality and felicitation extended to others, regardless of how they may treat or act towards the Kingdom.
The rich culture remains one of the most valuable heritages that inspire, educate and motivate many people from local and international communities.
One of the key elements of Asante culture is peace advocacy, there are no groups in Ghana that suffered the consequences of war than the Asante kingdom despite its historical efforts and success.
Recently, many Asante youth have expressed their dissatisfaction, following the announcement on Opemsuo radio that the Tourism Minister would serve as the Guest of Honour at the Otumfou Art Awards. The reactions from the youth is understandable considering the perceived inaccuracies and distortion by the minister, her recent remarks sparked a controversy on social media so many did not expect her presence at Manhyia palace.
However, the Palace serves as the highest Authority in the kingdom and its dignity must be always preserved. We must therefore be careful with our Choice of words when addressing matters concerning the palace, some of our reactions violate our customs. Itโs disheartening to see some Asanteman pages who we expected to calm the situation, rather issuing a statement that doesnโt aligned with our principles.
We commend pro Asante pages such as MeYษ Asanteni , Efikesiem and others who have encouraged restraint among their followers while educating them on Manhyia system and Diplomacy. Our leaders are too wise to be ensnared by these provocations. Asante is not in competition with anyone and some actions donโt deserve our attention or retaliation. We have far more to protect and preserve.
Manhyia palace isnโt just a mere venue for social gatherings, itโs a monument of peace, conflict resolution and unity. An institution where everyone is highly welcomed and accorded in their maximum respect irrespective of their backgrounds or differences m. The palace doesnโt operate based on emotions, but rather a strategic approach to achieve its objectives and overcome challenges.
Donโt forget the internet is a house of records, we should refrain from making reckless comments that will lead to regret in the future .
We are pleading on our brothers and sister to exercise restraint and desist from making emotional comments that may give others the opportunity to undermine the dignity of our kingdom.
