Yesterday’s Sanitation Day exercise was highly successful and impactful, with most of our overflowing container dump sites successfully evacuated despite the limited equipment available.

However, the evacuation exercise will continue over the coming days across the metropolis to ensure that all waste backlogs are completely cleared.

I commend my Waste Management Department, headed by Eng. Bertha Essel, and the entire team on the ground including the Presiding Member, Hon Patrick Brempong, Mr Issah and others for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to keeping our metropolis clean.

I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to Justmoh Construction, the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), the Sekondi-Takoradi Tipper Association, and other partners who supported the exercise with much-needed equipments.

This collective effort demonstrates what we can achieve when we work together towards a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable metropolis.

The visit also provided an opportunity for constructive discussions on key development projects and challenges.
