The GRIDCo Ladies Association (GRIDLASS) have presented sanitary products to female students of Akwamuman Senior High School to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

Led by its President, Lady Azara Amadu, the Association presented 45 boxes of sanitary pads and 12 boxes of panty liners to the school targeted at supporting the health and wellbeing of female students.

The gesture forms part of GRIDLASS’ commitment to promoting menstrual health awareness and helping young girls stay confident and focused on their education.

The donation was warmly received by the school, with students and staff expressing appreciation for the timely support.

The Director General of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA), Ing. Abel Didier Tella has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of GRIDCo, Ing. Frank Otchere.

Ing. Abel Didier Tella leading a three-member delegation, including, Ing. Isaac Darfour Manu, Technical Director and Mr. Jeannot KOUDEBI, Head of the Communication and Corporate Affairs Department of APUA, met with the GRIDCo Chief Executive and some staff of the Company as part of engagements to seek support for the upcoming APUA Annual General Meeting, scheduled to take place from July 27 to July 31, 2026.

GRIDCo, together with other power utilities in Ghana, is a member of APUA. Ghana’s hosting of the APUA AGM presents another important opportunity to showcase collaboration and strengthen synergies within the power sector across the continent.

A planning committee, led by the Volta River Authority (VRA), has been constituted to commence preparations for the event. The committee includes representatives from GRIDCo and Bui Power Authority.

The GRIDCo Board Chairlady, Kuukua Maurice Ankrah together with the Chief Executive, Ing. Frank Otchere led a delegation of the Board of Directors to pay a courtesy visit to the Speaker of Parliament, the Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin.

Speaking on behalf of the Board, Hon. Kuyon introduced the GRIDCo delegation and noted that, after nine months in office, it was important for the Board to formally introduce itself to the Speaker.

In his remarks, CEO Ing. Frank Otchere gave an overview about GRIDCo; how it was set up, and the role it plays. On her part, Board Chairlady, Kuukua Maurice Ankrah stated that the Board has been very supportive of her as the only Chairlady in the Energy Sector.

On the Akosombo restoration works, she commended GRIDCo’s engineers, noting that the progress made reflects the quality and professionalism of the Company’s technical staff.

In a warm and cordial atmosphere, Rt. Hon. Bagbin praised the richness and diversity of experience of the Board Members and encouraged them to remain united in their work.

He also underscored the importance of the energy sector and urged GRIDCo to leverage its strategic assets to attract investment into Ghana’s transmission infrastructure.

GRIDCo and CIHRM Ghana Hold Partnership Discussions Ahead of 2nd National HR Conference.

As part of GRIDCo’s efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships with key regulatory institutions, the company’s Human Resource Director, Mr. Isaac Mumuni, and Director of Corporate Strategy, Mr. Sam Acquah, met with leaders of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM) Ghana. The CIHRM delegation was led by its Chief Executive, Dr. Francis Eduku, and Head of Policy, Mr. Yen Sarpark.

The engagement was held in preparation for CIHRM’s 2nd National Conference, which GRIDCo has committed to support. Mr. Mumuni noted that this commitment reflects the importance of human resource, which is one of the most important resources available in every organisation. Dr. Eduku, on his part, expressed appreciation for GRIDCo’s contribution and noted that the conference provides an important platform to advance the human resource profession in Ghana and address key issues, and trends.

The conference will take place from June 10–11, 2026 on the theme, “Exploring the future of work through Leadership, Technology & Governance.”
