π§ Reliable water access is transforming livestock production across The Gambia.
Through the Small Ruminant Production Enhancement Project (SRPEP), 28 water facilities have been constructed to improve water availability for livestock farmers, helping animals stay healthy, productive, and better cared for. ππ
This intervention is strengthening livestock systems, supporting farmers, and improving livelihoods across communities.

Strong leadership continues to drive meaningful transformation in the livestock sector across The Gambia.
Under the leadership of Mamud Njie, Project Director of the Small Ruminant Production Enhancement Project, communities across the country are benefiting from impactful interventions including livestock markets, water facilities, pasture field development, slaughterhouses, veterinary support services, and livestock production initiatives that are improving the lives of farmers nationwide. ππ±
Through these interventions, farmers are experiencing improved animal health, better feeding systems, increased market access, reduced livestock losses, and stronger income-generating opportunities helping build more resilient livelihoods and sustainable rural communities. πͺπΎπ¬π²

From the initial stages of the project, the Small Ruminant Production Enhancement Project has remained committed not only to supporting farmers, but also to strengthening livestock service delivery across The Gambia. π¬π²π
As part of this commitment, the project handed over 3 vehicles, 30 motorbikes, 100 tablets, and other valuable materials and equipment to the Department of Livestock Services and the Gambia Livestock and Marketing Agency at the Abuko Show Ground.
These interventions continue to play a vital role in strengthening disease surveillance and monitoring, while improving the ability of livestock officers and GLMA personnel stationed across the provinces to better support farmers and livestock communities nationwide. π±πͺπΎ
