🌿💧 Το Cooling Havens παρουσιάστηκε σήμερα στο EUI Capacity Building Event “Designing and delivering green and blue infrastructure for climate-resilient cities”, που πραγματοποιείται στην Αθήνα στις 3–4 Ιουνίου 2026.

Στο πλαίσιο της διοργάνωσης, χαιρετισμό απηύθυνε ο Νίκος Χρυσόγελος, Σύμβουλος του Δήμου Αθηναίων, ενώ το Cooling Havens συμμετείχε στο πρόγραμμα ως case study για τον σχεδιασμό μπλε και πράσινων παρεμβάσεων που ενισχύουν την κλιματική ανθεκτικότητα των πόλεων.

🌿💧 Cooling Havens was presented today at the EUI Capacity Building Event “Designing and delivering green and blue infrastructure for climate-resilient cities”, taking place in Athens on 3–4 June 2026.

As part of the event, Nikos Chrysogelos, Counselor of the City of Athens, delivered a welcome address, while Cooling Havens was featured in the programme as a case study on blue and green interventions that strengthen urban climate resilience.

Οι πρώτες δύο βιωματικές περιηγήσεις του Cooling Havens, που γεννήθηκαν από τη συνεργασία του Dipylon Society και του Impact Hub Athens και εντάχθηκαν στο πλαίσιο του This is Athens - City Festival 2026 του Δήμου Αθηναίων, πραγματοποιήθηκαν με επιτυχία την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα στο Μεταξουργείο/Κολωνό και τα Άνω Πατήσια.

Μια διαδρομή στα ίχνη του νερού, εκεί όπου η ιστορία της πόλης συναντά τις σύγχρονες ανάγκες για δροσιά και ανθεκτικότητα.

The first two experiential walking tours of Cooling Havens, developed through the collaboration between Dipylon Society and Impact Hub Athens and held as part of the This is Athens City Festival 2026, were successfully concluded last week in Metaxourgeio/Kolonos and Ano Patissia.

A journey through the traces of water, where the city’s history meets today’s needs for cooling and resilience.

Την Τετάρτη 27 Μαΐου, το Cooling Havens συνεχίζει τη σειρά δωρεάν βιωματικών περιηγήσεων και σε προσκαλεί σε έναν ξεχωριστό και συναρπαστικό περίπατο στα Άνω Πατήσια.

🗺️💧 Μέσα από τη διαδρομή, ανακαλύπτουμε τη μνήμη της υπαίθρου και του υδάτινου στοιχείου της Αθήνας του χθες - συνδέοντας το παρελθόν της πόλης με τις σύγχρονες προκλήσεις της κλιματικής ανθεκτικότητας.

Τη Δευτέρα 25 Μαΐου, το Cooling Havens εγκαινιάζει μια σειρά δωρεάν βιωματικών περιηγήσεων και σε προσκαλεί σε έναν ξεχωριστό και συναρπαστικό περίπατο στις γειτονιές του Μεταξουργείου και του Κολωνού.

🗺️💧 Μέσα από τη διαδρομή, ανακαλύπτουμε ιστορίες, μνήμες και κρυμμένα ίχνη του νερού που διαμόρφωσαν την περιοχή διαχρονικά - συνδέοντας το παρελθόν της πόλης με τις σύγχρονες προκλήσεις της κλιματικής ανθεκτικότητας.

💧 Το Athens Water School έκανε την πρώτη του στάση στα Άνω Πατήσια!

Στις 23 Απριλίου, 51 μαθητές και μαθήτριες του 18ου Γυμνασίου Αθηνών συμμετείχαν στο πρώτο εργαστήριο του Athens Water School, στο πλαίσιο του Cooling Havens.

Η ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΕΤΑΙΡΕΙΑ Περιβάλλοντος και Πολιτισμού και το Dipylon Society , με τη συμμετοχή του Impact Hub Athens , υλοποίησαν μια διαδραστική δράση γύρω από την κλιματική αλλαγή, το αυξανόμενο θερμικό ρίσκο στην Αθήνα και τις Λύσεις βασισμένες στη Φύση.

Οι μαθητές διερεύνησαν τις ανάγκες της γειτονιάς τους και πρότειναν τις δικές τους ιδέες για μπλε και πράσινες παρεμβάσεις που μπορούν να βελτιώσουν το μικροκλίμα της περιοχής.

🌿 Η νέα γενιά μαθαίνει πώς το νερό, η φύση και ο δημόσιος χώρος μπορούν να γίνουν μέρος της απάντησης απέναντι στη θερμική επιβάρυνση.

🏫 Το εργαστήριο αυτό είναι το πρώτο από μια σειρά 12 δράσεων που καλλιεργούν μια νέα κουλτούρα υδατικής συνείδησης στην εκπαιδευτική κοινότητα της Αθήνας, συνδέοντας τη γνώση με τις επερχόμενες παρεμβάσεις του Cooling Havens.

💧 Athens Water School made its first stop in Ano Patissia!

On 23 April, 51 students from the 18th Junior High School of Athens took part in the first Athens Water School workshop, held in the framework of Cooling Havens.

The project partners ELLET and Dipylon Society, with the participation of Impact Hub Athens, delivered an interactive activity focusing on climate change, the increasing urban heat risk in Athens and Nature-based Solutions.

Students explored the needs of their own neighbourhood and proposed their ideas for blue and green interventions that could help improve the area’s microclimate.

🌿 The younger generation is learning how water, nature and public space can become part of the response to urban heat stress.

🏫 This workshop is the first in a series of 12 activities aiming to cultivate a new culture of water awareness within Athens’ educational community, connecting knowledge with the upcoming Cooling Havens interventions.

Impact Hub Athens και Dipylon Society εν δράσει, βοήθησαν τους κατοίκους των Εξαρχείων να ανακαλέσουν και ανασυνθέσουν προσωπικές ιστορίες, βιώματα και μνήμες της γειτονιάς, φωτίζοντας έτσι τη σχέση των ανθρώπων με τον δημόσιο χώρο.

🌿💧Διήμερο ανταλλαγής τεχνογνωσίας στην Αθήνα (21–22/1/2026)

Στο πλαίσιο του Έργου Cooling Havens, πραγματοποιήθηκε στην Αθήνα, στο Σεράφειο Δήμου Αθηναίων - Serafio City of Athens, διήμερη συνάντηση εργασίας. Παρόντες ήταν όλοι οι Εταίροι του έργου, με προσκεκλημένους τις τρεις πόλεις μεταφοράς γνώσης (Ρουσελάρε, 18η Διοικητική Περιφέρεια Βουδαπέστης, Σόφια), καθώς και τους αξιωματούχους της Ευρωπαϊκής Πρωτοβουλίας για τις Πόλεις (European Urban Initiative - EUI). Υπό τον συντονισμό του Δήμου Αθηναίων, οι δύο ημέρες κύλησαν σε πνεύμα ουσιαστικής ανταλλαγής τεχνογνωσίας και εργαστηριακής συνεργασίας, με στόχο τη μεταφορά και προσαρμογή του έργου Cooling Havens στις ανάγκες των πόλεων.

📌Η 1η ημέρα ανέδειξε τον πυρήνα του έργου: καινοτόμες λύσεις ανά σημείο παρέμβασης, δράσεις ενεργοποίησης και συμμετοχής της κοινότητας στον σχεδιασμό, περιβαλλοντική καινοτομία, εκπαιδευτικές δράσεις και η σημασία των δεδομένων/αισθητήρων (IoT) για συστηματική τεκμηρίωση και βελτίωση.

🧩Τη 2η ημέρα, ο λόγος δόθηκε στις πόλεις μεταφοράς τεχνογνωσίας: Με εργαλεία ανταλλαγής γνώσης και με διαδραστικές ασκήσεις, μεταφέρθηκε η ήδη υπάρχουσα εμπειρία μεταξύ των βασικών εταίρων του έργου και των εταίρων του εξωτερικού.

🚶‍♀️🚶Η συνάντηση ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτόπιες επισκέψεις σε δυο σημεία παρέμβασης όπου παρουσιάστηκαν οι προτεινόμενες παρεμβάσεις στο πεδίο.

🌿💧Two-day knowledge exchange in Athens (21–22/1/2026)

As part of the Cooling Havens project, a two-day working meeting took place in Athens at the Serafio City of Athens. All project partners attended, together with the three knowledge transfer cities (Roeselare, Budapest 18th District, Sofia) and representatives of the European Urban Initiative (EUI). Under the coordination of the Municipality of Athens (Lead Partner), the two days unfolded in a spirit of meaningful knowledge exchange and workshop-based collaboration, with the aim of transferring and adapting the Cooling Havens model to the needs of the transfer cities.

📌Day 1 highlighted the project’s core: innovative solutions by intervention site, community activation and participation in planning, environmental innovation, education actions, and the role of data/IoT sensors for systematic monitoring, documentation and improvement.

🧩On Day 2, the focus shifted to the knowledge transfer cities: through knowledge-exchange tools and interactive exercises, experience was shared between the project’s core partners and the partners abroad.

🚶‍♀️🚶The meeting concluded with site visits to two intervention locations, where the proposed interventions were presented on the ground.
