The roles of the IEGKF [which is supported internationally and not only in Greece] is also concerned with establishing the existing oral Kalasha tradition that the Kalasha people are indeed the genuine descendants of the soldiers of King Seleucus - one of the generals in the army of Alexander the Great. Therefore there is a shared and common Greco-Kalasha historical cultural tradition. This shared cultural tradition has been imposed by a common history and re-in forces the need for communication and cooperation between the Kalasha and Greek people


The Kalasha community now lists approximately 4,000 members - and is recognized by the Pakistan government as a religious minority. The Kalasha people now live in three Valleys situated in the North Western Province (NWFP) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. is the promotion of Kalasha Cultural awareness internationally - and particularly within Greek society and the European community. wishes to make known the Kalasha's desire to co-operate internationally. The lifestyle of Kalasha people - including many of their customs and religious rituals - demonstrates a historical connection to the ancient Greek culture. The Kalasha tradition today helps to define the individual and unique identity of the Kalasha cultural heritage; and thus helps to ensure their survival as a distinct tribe of people today



To «ΔΙΕΘΝΕΣ ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪΚΟ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟ ΚΑΛΑΣΙΚΟ ΙΔΡΥΜΑ» - Δ.Ε.Ε.Κ.Ι. έχει τηνέδρα στην οδό Καντακουζηνού 10, Τ.Κ. 10677, Αθήνα.
Είναι Ίδρυμα μη κερδοσκοπικού χαρακτήρος, με κύριους σκοπούς την έρευνα, καταγραφή μελέτη και προστασία των ιστορικών μορφών των συγγενών παραδοσιακών ενεργειακών εθίμων, καθώς και την δημιουργία αρχείου για την λειτουργία Κέντρου Τεκμηρίωσης.
Ο ρόλος του Ιδρύματος ενισχύεται διεθνώς, όχι μόνο στην Ελλάδα αλλά και στην Ευρώπη, μεταφέροντας την προφορική παράδοση ότι: οι Καλάσα, (κατά την κοινή ελληνο-καλασική παράδοση), είναι γνήσιοι απόγονοι των στρατιωτών του βασιλέως Σελεύκου, (ενός εκ των καλυτέρων σε δυναμικότητα στρατηγού, του Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου).
Η πραγματικότητα αυτή έχει επιβληθεί από την κοινή ιστορία, και διέπεται από την ανάγκη επικοινωνίας και συνεργασίας μεταξύ των Καλάσα και των Ελλήνων.
Η Κοινότητα των Καλάσα απαριθμεί σήμερα περίπου 4.000 κατοίκους και είναι διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένη ως ­Θρησκευτική Μειονότητα. Τώρα, διοικητικώς είναι ενσωματωμένη στην Ισλαμική Δημοκρατία του Πακιστάν.
Η δημιουργία του Δ.Ε.Ε.Κ.Ι., στοχεύει στην διεθνή ενημέρωση τόσο της ελληνικής κοινωνίας όσο και της ευρωπαϊκής κοινότητας, για την ύπαρξη και επιθυμία συνεργασίας.
Ο τρόπος διαβίωσης των Καλάσα με τα ήθη και έθιμα και τις θρησκευτικές τελετές, συνδέεται ιστορικά με τις αρχαίες ελληνικές λατρείες. Η Καλασική Παράδοση είναι ικανή να επαναπροσδιορίσει την εθνική της ταυτότητα και την πολιτισμική κληρονομιά, κι έτσι να διασφαλίσει την επιβίωσή της.
