🇿🇲🇬🇷 Honoring Courage and Leadership Zambia and Greece, 28th October

Today, 28th October, carries deep meaning for two nations an ocean apart....Zambia and Greece both remembering moments that define courage, conviction, and the spirit of a people.

In Zambia, we remember the late President Michael Chilufya Sata (1937–2014), our fifth republican president. A man of action, vision, and determination, President Sata, commonly known as king cobra, dedicated his life to serving the Zambian people. His legacy reminds us that true leadership is not about comfort or convenience, but about standing firm for progress and justice, even in the face of challenge.

On the same date, Greece commemorates οχι Day the historic moment in 1940 when the Greek people, confronted with an ultimatum from Axis powers, declared a resolute “οχι!” (No!) refusing to surrender their sovereignty and freedom. Their defiance became a timeless symbol of national pride and collective courage.

Two stories, two nations, one shared message:
The power of saying “no” to fear, and “yes” to principle.

May we all draw inspiration from these examples, to lead bravely, to stand for what is right, and to honor those who shaped our history with courage and conviction

Celebrating Armenia’s 34th Independence Day 🇦🇲

It was an honor to attend the reception marking the 34th Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, held at the beautiful Municipal Theater of Piraeus in Athens.

The evening brought together distinguished guests, diplomats, and friends of Armenia to celebrate the country’s rich history, culture, and enduring friendship with Greece. The warm atmosphere, heartfelt speeches, and cultural performances highlighted the strong bonds between our two nations — rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and historical ties.

Congratulations to the people of Armenia on this milestone, and best wishes for continued peace and prosperity.

Had a productive and engaging meeting with the largest shipping giant in Greece Maria Angelicoussis the CEO and owner of Angelicoussis Group. One of the world's biggest private owning groups. Was indeed pleasure and opportunity to exchange ideas and explore potential areas of collaboration. Grateful for the warm reception and meaningful dialogue. 🇿🇲🇬🇷

This past weekend, I had the honor of attending the FICAC (World Federation of Consuls) Conference in Athens, Greece — a truly inspiring gathering that brought together consuls from around the world for dialogue, collaboration, and connection.

As the Honorary Consul of Zambia in Greece, it was a privilege to engage in meaningful conversations about diplomacy, international cooperation, and the evolving role of consuls in a changing world. One of the highlights was the attendance of Greece’s Minister of Tourism, whose presence underscored the strong link between diplomacy and cultural exchange.

I was especially proud to connect with fellow consuls representing Zambia — a powerful reminder of how important it is for us to support one another in promoting our nation abroad. I also made new friends and broadened my perspective on the global diplomatic community. It was truly an eye-opener.

Grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to building on the connections made.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the people and Government of the Republic of Zambia on the passing of His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the 6th President of Zambia.

President Lungu will be remembered for his service, leadership, and enduring commitment to the Zambian nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and all Zambians during this time of national mourning.
