The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) was honored to host and support the 3rd Sub‑regional Meeting on Environmental Assessments in a Transboundary Context in the Mediterranean, held on 23–24 April 2026 at our premises in Plaka, Athens.

Organized under the framework of the UNECE Espoo Convention, the meeting brought together delegations from 27 countries, alongside leading experts and representatives of international organizations and IFIs.

Over two days, participants exchanged best practices and advanced discussions on strengthening cooperation and improving the implementation of transboundary EIA and SEA procedures across the Mediterranean region.

Building on previous sub‑regional meetings, the event further reinforced synergies between the Espoo Convention and the Barcelona Convention systems, while fostering dialogue among national focal points and key stakeholders.

EPLO remains committed to promoting international cooperation and supporting policy development in environmental protection, circular economy, energy, and climate — in the Mediterranean and beyond.
