UPDATE! Re: Invitation to Participate in the Demonstration of Arnis

We are pleased with the positive response to Introduction and Demonstration of Arnis this coming Sunday, 29 January 2023 at 10:00AM to 11:30AM. However, due to the limited space in the Embassy, all other interested persons will have to join online at a convenient place. Please register at this link https://forms.gle/1Euq6JTZ8ybrTeR3A to be provided with zoom link for the lecture and demonstration on Sunday.

Registered participants reporting in-person at the Embassy are required to be vaccinated.

The activity aims to introduce “ARNIS”, an indigenous martial art to those living in these countries. This activity will begin with the introduction and demonstration of the basic moves in Arnis. This will then to be followed by series of lectures and demonstrations in the succeeding sessions.

The event will be a hybrid type where the participants have the option to join virtually via zoom, or in person at the Philippine Embassy.

Participants are requested to prepare live stick/ratan stick or ordinary but durable training stick of 28 to 30 inches length circumference 1 inch, and to wear jogging pants for comfortable movements during the demonstration.

126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal

The Philippine Embassy in Athens is pleased to invite the Filipino community and other interested persons especially members of the Knights of Rizal and Their female counterparts in the Las Damas De Rizal, Kababihang Rizalista and other auxiliary groups to commemorate the 126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal with the theme “Rizal: Preserved Memories Treasured Today by the Nation” (Rizal: Alaalang Iningatan, Yaman Ngayon ng Bayan”.
