What if the answers to our biggest climate challenges aren't found in conference rooms but are already alive on our islands?

Speaking to Νικόλας Καμακάρης on Alpha Radio 98.9, Sophie Lamprou, co-founder of Impact Hub Athens, breaks down the core philosophy of the Hearth Summit Aegean: resilient, regenerative futures are built through connection, care, and collective action.

Today, we are opening a knowledge exchange without borders. Far from being isolated dots on a map, our islands form an interconnected, living network. They are bound by the same waters, navigate the same natural limits, and face shared environmental realities.

Representatives from across the wider Mediterranean and beyond will share how local communities can thrive in true balance with their natural surroundings, turning geographical vulnerability into regenerative, sustainable models.

Santorini is so much more than a view. It is an island shaped by fire, wind, sea, and generations of people who learned to live with the land.

For three days, let's go beyond the postcard. At Hearth Summit Aegean, we’re not just gathering in a place. We’re gathering with it.

Beyond the caldera. Beyond the obvious.
Explore the island through water, soil, biodiversity and local knowledge.
Move from conversation to discovery and from ideas to practice.
Connect through food, art, music and shared experience.
Closer to the people, the stories and the living landscape that make what it actually is.

This is 2026.

Hearth Summit Aegean would not be possible without the support of our co-creators, collaborators, sponsors, and European and local partners.

We are grateful to collaborate with organisations and people who share a common belief: that more resilient, regenerative and meaningful futures are built through connection, care, courage and collective action.

Together, we are creating more than a Summit. We are contributing to a shared vision for places, communities and ways of living that can truly thrive.

Thank you for standing by our side. Until we gather on the island.

What if the best way to understand a place was to experience it?

The EXPERIENCE dimension of Hearth Summit Aegean makes Santorini our classroom, our meeting point and our source of inspiration.

🍇 Celebrate with the island. Join the Saint Averkios celebration, as Santorini’s w**eries open the first bottles of the year, bringing local producers and residents together to mark the end of the harvest season.

🌋 Learn from place. What can small islands teach us about innovation, resilience and navigating uncertainty? Through Learning from Place, we turn the spotlight on communities that keep adapting, creating and thriving with limited resources.

🌿 Choose your own journey. Four parallel pathways take participants across the island, combining place-based explorations, shared lunches and hands-on workshops. From the landscape to the table, from local knowledge to collective experimentation, learning happens by doing.

🎶 As the hearth lights up, Greek music transforms the evening into a mystical soundscape, building towards a panigiri, a celebration of music, connection and togetherness.

Walk, observe, make, taste and engage with Santorini through its landscapes, people, practices and ecological realities. Experience the .

Μπορεί ένα νησί να συνεχίσει να ευημερεί μέσα στα φυσικά του όρια, χωρίς να χάσει όσα το κάνουν μοναδικό;

Πώς μπορούν οι συλλογικές διαπραγματεύσεις να συμβάλουν στην πρόληψη και αντιμετώπιση της έμφυλης βίας στον χώρο εργασίας;

The Hearth Summit Aegean ILLUMINATE dimension is all about ideas that challenge the way we see the world.

Through conversations, keynotes and provocations, we are bringing new perspectives to regeneration, resilience, wellbeing and the future of places.

We are rethinking our bioregion.

By exploring regeneration as the practice for system transformation.
By gathering around a common table to discuss the seeds that bring us together, examining what preserving biodiversity truly means for our local culture.
By bringing governance to the forefront, directly confronting the competing tensions of growth and resilience across our island municipalities.

Come meet those illuminating the conversations to listen, question, and expand your perspective: https://athens.impacthub.net/hearth-summit-aegean/

At Hearth Summit Aegean, we know that some of the most important conversations will happen between sessions, around the table.

Through shared meals, we will CONNECT with people across disciplines, communities and generations to create space for meaningful encounters, new collaborations and relationships that continue long after the Summit ends.

Growth or resilience? Visitors or residents? Economic development or local identity?

These are only some of the questions without easy answers that we will explore during our Hearth Feast, prepared by chef Gogo Delogianni and curated by Zymosi, and in our various Trapezomata -pitching lunches and fireside conversations- in unexpected locations such as local w**e-making caves and fishing ports.

Because regeneration doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we listen, challenge assumptions and imagine new possibilities together.

A special thank you to Lidl Hellas, our Food Experience Supporter, for nurturing these gatherings and to the local w**eries Boutari Santorinι Winery - Οινοποιείο Μπουτάρη, Artemis Karamolegos Winery Santorini, Hatzidakis Winery-Οινοποιείο Χατζηδάκη, Mikra Thira, and Gavalas Winery who will help the conversations flow with their w**e.
