On the 26th of November 2025, the Honorary Consul of Kenya in Greece, Mrs. Pantazopoulou, held a constructive meeting at the Hellenic Parliament with the Presidium of the Greece–Kenya Parliamentary Friendship Group, comprising Mr. Anastasios Dimoschakis (President), Mr. Georgios Stamatis and Mr. Spyridon Bibilas.

The discussion reaffirmed the consistently warm relations between Greece and Kenya and highlighted a shared commitment to further advancing bilateral cooperation. The Presidium acknowledged Kenya’s valuable support for Greece’s recent election to the United Nations Security Council for the 2025–2026 term, noting that this reflects the mutual trust built over the years.
Both sides also referred to the steady expansion of economic and business ties, as well as Kenya’s deepening engagement with Europe, demonstrated by the EU–Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement and the country’s status as a Major Non-NATO Ally.

A number of additional fields for cooperation were explored, particularly in culture and sports, while attention was drawn to the social and economic challenges faced by vulnerable communities in Kenya and the importance of initiatives aimed at addressing them.

During the meeting, the Consul, Mrs. Pantazopoulou, provided the Greek Members of Parliament with an in-depth overview of the initiatives undertaken since 2010 to strengthen relations between the two countries. She also conveyed Kenya’s intention to further enhance parliamentary and cultural exchanges, including the prospect of an official parliamentary visit to Greece and the hosting of Kenyan artworks in future cultural events or exhibitions.

The Consulate of Kenya in Greece remains committed to supporting all efforts that promote understanding, partnership and long-term collaboration between the two nations.

The Consulate of Kenya in Greece extends its warmest thanks to the Medical Students’ Outreach Mission of the University of Thessaly, led by Professor Matthaios Speletas and Associate Professor Christos Rountas, as well as to the students and resident doctors who took part.

Their selfless contribution in Kenya – from providing primary healthcare in remote areas to improving the daily lives of children like little Shadrack – stands as a shining example of humanity, solidarity, and volunteerism.
