Today, we proudly join in celebrating the 128th Philippine Independence Day and honoring the enduring friendship between Guam and the Philippines.
Our islands are connected by generations of shared history, family ties, and the countless contributions of the Filipino community, whose hard work and dedication have helped shape Guam into the vibrant island we know today.
To our Filipino brothers and sisters on Guam, in the Philippines, and around the world, Happy 128th Philippine Independence Day!
Congressman James C. Moylan
Proudly representing Guam in the 119th United States Congress.
I had the honor of recognizing the life and legacy of Manuel “Manny” Duenas on the House floor.
A beloved son of Guam, Manny dedicated decades of his life to our island’s fishing community.
People often talk about leaving a legacy. Manny’s legacy lives on, through the fishermen he mentored, the community he helped build, and the waters he worked tirelessly to protect.
Guam has lost a respected leader and a dear friend, but his impact on our island will endure for generations.
Si Yu’os Ma’åse’, Manny for your countless contributions to our island.
To the Class of 2026, congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone!
Your hard work, perseverance, and determination have brought you to this moment. As you take the next step toward your future, know that all of Guam is proud of what you have accomplished.
Congratulations, graduates. We can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve next!
From federal services to regional security, Guam’s priorities must remain part of the national conversation.
During a recent House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing, I questioned Secretary Rubio on several issues important to Guam and our region, including efforts to establish a passport issuance office on Guam, strengthening counter-narcotics cooperation across the Pacific, reinforcing partnerships throughout the Indo-Pacific, and addressing growing security challenges in our region.
I will keep pushing to ensure Guam’s priorities remain front and center in Washington.

Congratulations to Piti Mayor Jesse Alig, the entire Piti Mayor’s Office and all the organizers, volunteers, vendors, and artisans whose hard work has carried this maritime legacy forward and helped make this celebration a huge success!
