Power Update

‼ POWER UPDATE ‼ (As of April 17)
Naval Base Guam (NBG) Public Works and DZSP 21, in coordination with Guam Power Authority, continue to work around the clock to restore power across NBG.
Power has been restored to the following areas:
- Apra View/Apra Palms
- Santa Rita Office Complex
- Naval Magazine
- Water Treatment Plant and Water Reservoir Pumps
- Camp Covington
- NBG Front Gate area
- Polaris Point
- Sasa Valley
- NEX/Commissary
- Transportation
- Naval Hospital annex

*Residents who are still without power in the aforementioned areas should contact their respective housing maintenance providers for further troubleshooting.

What areas crews are working on now (with estimated time of restoration of 1-3 days, barring any unforeseen circumstances*):
- North Tipalao
- Harbor View/Bay View
- Barracks
- Lockwood
- TNT/Gym/Chapel + other nearby QOL facilities
- McCool school

The power system may be unstable, with fluctuating voltages, power interruptions and intermittencies occurring during restoration and recovery after a typhoon.

Starting today April 17, the command has authorized for our facility Building 105 to allow our Sharks and their families to utiliize the showers, air conditioning and a place to charge their personal devices. The EFAC is still fully activated and will continue this weekend (0800-1200) Saturday and Sunday, and regular business hours (0800-1600) next week unless we are directed to stand down. NMCRS EFAC services will only be available through this weekend and will end COB Sunday. Please send any families/sailors to the Fleet Family Support Center. We currently have Housing, NMCRS, Red Cross, and legal representatives on site to support.
