what a scandal (of Pearson...). The news actually came out in the end of last year (2025), although I just saw it today via Hong Kongers' social media. 原來 UK Gov 之前堅去 review Chinese language exam content 仲罰咗 Pearson, 話考試內容 "inappropriately pitched towards knowledge that native speakers would have, but non-native speakers were less likely to have."
去年四月，Lib Dem MP Bobby Dean 幫手向教育部寄出，由 香港公民代表會議 Assembly of Citizens’ Representatives, Hong Kong (ACRHK) 撰寫嘅一份資料，當中指出英國嘅 中文語文公開試 考試內容向中共國文化範例傾斜 。有關部門之後真係有跟進。👍
Last April, Bobby Dean MP (connected through Sheffield Cllr Robert Reiss) helped submit related information to the Department for Education, including a report written by ACRHK about how the content of UK Chinese language public examinations was biased towards examples from the culture of People's Republic of China. The relevant department subsequently did follow up on the matter. 👍 Thanks Bobby and Rob!

About the Films:

"Nixon Addendum" by Mark Tarrant:
US President Richard Nixon's acceptance in 1971 of Mao Tse-tung's invitation to visit Peking marked the beginning of the end of an independent Hong Kong. The 1949 Shanghai exodus to Hong Kong helped create the territory's vibrant film industry led by Shanghainese director Chang Cheh. The film includes archival footage of the deadly communist-inspired 1967 violence in Hong Kong, which the local population rejected. The death of kung fu star Bruce Lee in July 1973 hit Hong Kong hard as the local population, with its own unique culture and freedoms, felt trapped by the combined forces of the USA and communist China. The film's director Mark Tarrant lived in Hong Kong in the '60's and '70's and features in the film as an 8-year boy in Chang Cheh's 1972 movie 'Young People'. offering critical perspectives on movement, identity, and social contexts. Following the screening, audiences will engage in a post-screening discussion with director MMM, who will join remotely.

This short documents how the life-size animated neon sign of Jimmy Lai in chains tells the stories of this HK political prisoner in public spaces and joins the protests against the HKCFA

宏福苑前法團管委會成員江祥發夫婦被捕，昨日（14日）被捕，今早仍被扣查，被指涉及數年前的詐騙案件。

江祥發是宏福苑前法團成員，橫跨鄧國權和徐滿柑兩屆新舊法團。在宏福苑大火後，他仍有就居民的訴求發聲。今年三月起，有超過 400 名宏福苑居民透過 Google Form 聯署，要求法團管理人合安召開業主大會。《大公報》四月初撰全版「調查報導」指江祥發發起聯署可信度成疑、民政及青年局局長麥美娟則指接獲居民投訴懷疑冒簽，已轉交執法部門。江祥發連同其他業主上月以紙本方式收集 247 戶業主或遺產管理人的簽署，再次要求召開業主大會。

江上月底親身到合安辦公室遞交聯署。昨（13日）原為合安發會議通知期限，合安發通告以時間不足以核實業主簽署、尋覓適合場地為由，指未能於限時內發會議通告、及於 6 月 13 日或前舉行會議，向土地審裁處申請延長開會期限。

江祥發曾在聽證會以事實證人身分作供，提及他認為大維修工程有很多警號，自己曾多次向政府部門提醒跟進但都無果，認為如部門及早跟進，火災可以避免。聽證會進行期間他亦多次以居民身分受訪評論，並促重要持份者包括工程承建商宏業、顧問公司鴻毅、涉威嚇居民的民建聯區議員黃碧嬌等到委員會作供。
