我發現這個活動是一個很有意義的體驗。走在香港的街道上，我不會注意到執紙皮者及清道夫。當我主動地尋找及祝福他們時，情況變得很不一樣。這次的經歷讓我不再想在街上與他們擦身而過，而是能繼續為他們睜開眼並給予他們一個友善的問候。跟他們的交談，讓我發現到他們都是跟我一樣有希望、夢想、家庭及掙扎的人，而不是無名旳面孔。透過短暫在街上推着推車的體驗，我對於他們辛勤努力卻得到微少的回報感到震驚。

I found it a very meaningful experience. So many times walking around the streets of Hong Kong, I don't pay much attention to people like cardboard collectors and street sweepers. It was very different to be out there actively looking for them and seeking to bless them. It made me want to keep my eyes open for them more in future and give a friendly greeting instead of walking past. Talking to them and seeking for them brought home to me that they are people with hopes, dreams, families and struggles, just like me, and not just anonymous faces. I was also struck by what hard work it is and how little money they get in return, having a little taste of it by pushing a trolley around the streets for a short while.

"I think it’s a precious experience for us to better preapre the same kind of activities in the future.
Another lesson is that I have a glance at how the cardboard collectors’ life in the street. As I kept pushing the trolley around the street, I was tired even when I am capable to do the physical work. It made me sad to think of how hard it would be for the elderly but just for little money. Moreover, I prepared myself the possibility to be scolded by the cardboard collectors, but turns out most of them are really gentle and thankful for what we did. I am grateful for having me in this trip.

因盼望而閃爍的雙眼 ✨✨

簡單的一個禱告慰問，為拾紙皮者帶來希望。
我們其中一位參加者分享到：
「我們在一個近街市近乎被人群淹沒的窄巷找到蓮姐。她的背挨近一個藥房的牆邊，坐在地上休息。她身邊是一架推車和一疊疊紙皮。拾了紙皮一段長時間的她已邁入六十多歲。她很歡迎我們與她聊天，在閒談中發現她有一個兒子和孫女。從前她辛勤工作至零晨3-4時，但她發現最近跟其他拾紙皮者的競爭很激烈。
當我們問到可怎樣為她禱告，蓮姐說她快要到公共醫院作一個重要手術，因此之後需於家中休養一段長時間。我們為到她的醫治及術後的康復禱告。我們也為祈求上帝的愛及祝福臨到她的家中。禱告後她看來很喜樂，她的雙眼因着盼望而閃爍，不斷感謝我們的關心。」

Her Eyes Blinked with Hope✨✨

A simple prayer can bring hope to a cardboard collector.
A story from one of our participants:
“’We found Lin Jer in an alley near the wet market which was nearly hidden from the crowd. She was obviously taking rest while sitting on the ground with her back resting against a wall of a pharmacy shop. She had with her a trolley and also some carboards piled up around her. She was very friendly to talk to. She has been doing this for a long time and now reaches her 60s. She had a son and a granddaughter. She used to work really hard as late as 3-4am. But now she found it tough to compete with other collectors as the competition among them was quite vigorous.
When being asked what we could pray for, Lin Jer shared her recent operation to have her uterus removal in a public hospital. She was in hospital and later resting at home for a long time. We prayed for His healing over her surgery wound and her good recovery. We also prayed for His love and blessings over her and her family. She was so happy after we chatted with her and prayed for her. Her eyes blinked with hope as she thanked us for showing care for her.”

他們就在我們中間。唯一差別就是他們永推着沉重的車仔。

我們很多參予箸也分享他們在參加SHINE香港前未有留意到這些拾紙皮者，而我們的活動打開了他們的眼睛看見這些在街中為生活掙扎的人。

以下是其中一位SHINE香港參加者的分享：

「我們在一個回收站找到葉婆婆。她大概70歲左右並有腳痛。她看來肯與我們分享她的生活，但當我們問到可否與她合照時，她拒絕並解釋她不希望她在內地的家人知道她在拾紙皮過活。她認為她拾紙皮的工作很卑賤並因此感到羞愧。可惜她年紀已太大去打其他的工。

我們為她的腳痛及她在主內是被珍貴的女兒的身份禱告。她不斷因着我們的關心而感謝我們。

稍後，我們回程時又再看見葉婆婆。這次她比之前可以站起來得更快及動作得快。她應該感到很滿足，因她立即用了我們給她的勞工手套去推她的車仔。」

They are amongst us on the street. The different is they have a heavy cart with them.

Many of our participants shared that they never "see" the cardboard collectors before and SHINE HK has opened their eyes to see those struggling with life on the street.

A testimony from one of our SHINE HK participants:

"We found Yip PoPo outside a recycling centre. She was in her 70s and suffered from leg pain. She seemed more open to talk to us but when we asked her to take a picture with us, she refused and explained that she didn’t want people especially her family in PRC to know that she did this for a living. She shared that this kind of job was lowly and she felt a bit ashamed about doing this job but said she was too old to do any other job.

We prayed for her for His healing over her legs and for her identity to be affirmed in Christ as His valuable daughter. She kept thanking us for showing concern and care for her.

Later on, we walked back and saw Yip PoPo again in the same small alley. This time
she stood up and working fast. She must be so satisfied that she immediately tried on the 3M gloves to push the trolley."
