Polish Radio for Ukraine has been on air since March 2022. When the war began, Poles opened both their homes and their hearts to Ukrainians. Ukrainian-language radio became one more expression of that support – building closeness through conversation and everyday presence.

Russia has been portraying the EU and Ukraine’s leadership as “warmongers” unwilling to end the war. This is, of course, an outright lie.
In reality, it is the Kremlin that has rejected at least seven peace proposals in 2025 alone.

When Russia attacked Ukraine, 1.73 million Ukrainian refugees received legal protection and financial support in Poland. Many of them were seniors.

Some stories begin with an image. This one begins with sound: the flutter of wings, a bird’s call, the silence before dawn – and a kind of attentiveness most of us still have to learn.
Łukasz Pilip’s reportage, Izabela Dłużyk: The Bird Lady, published in Pismo magazine, tells the story of a blind translator, scholar with a PhD in the humanities, and nature sound recordist who can identify birds by ear and record birdsong with extraordinary precision.
The text has been nominated for the prestigious True Story Award. It is a remarkable distinction: 36 reports were selected from 959 submissions from 103 countries. Łukasz Pilip is the only Polish author among the nominees.
