🎶🇮🇹 Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Italian Republic in Hong Kong through the universal language of opera.

The operatic concert, “Voci d’Italia by Accademia del Teatro Comunale”, featured emerging talents Cecilia Taliano Grasso (soprano), Gaia Cerri (soprano), Simone Fenotti (tenor) and Guo Xiaotong (baritone), accompanied by pianist Amedeo Salvato and harpist Lauyee Yeung from the Hong Kong Harp Chamber Music, in a programme dedicated to masterpieces by Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini.

The concert showcased the artistic excellence of Bologna while further strengthening cultural ties between Italy and Hong Kong, and reaffirming the importance of international artistic collaboration and people-to-people exchanges.

Celebriamo l’80° Anniversario della Repubblica Italiana a Hong Kong attraverso il linguaggio universale dell’opera.

Il concerto, “Voci d’Italia by Accademia del Teatro Comunale”, ha visto protagonisti i giovani talenti Cecilia Taliano Grasso (soprano), Gaia Cerri (soprano), Simone Fenotti (tenore) e Guo Xiaotong (baritono), accompagnati dal pianista Amedeo Salvato e dall’arpista Lauyee Yeung del Hong Kong Harp Chamber Music, in un programma dedicato ai capolavori di Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi e Puccini.

Con il suo debutto in Asia, l’Accademia ha offerto un’importante vetrina internazionale alle eccellenze artistiche di Bologna, contribuendo al contempo a consolidare i legami culturali tra l’Italia e Hong Kong e riaffermando l’importanza delle collaborazioni artistiche internazionali e degli scambi tra i popoli.

Today, June 2, we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Italian Republic, following the referendum held on June 2, 1946. The Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, has sent a video message of greetings to all Italian nationals abroad.

The call for applications for the 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲 scholarship program for the 2026-2027 Academic Year is now online. The program aims to promote the internationalization of the Italian academic system and foster synergies between universities and businesses. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), and Uni-Italia are offering scholarships to foreign students from 23 selected countries interested in completing higher education course leading to a Master's degree or a Postgraduate degree offered by 24 participating Italian universities (see the list below) in the following fields:
• Engineering and Advanced Technologies;
• Architecture and Design;
• Economics and Management

Over 240 courses are available. All courses will be delivered in English.

Upon completion of the course, a compulsory internship must be undertaken at an Italian company, trade association or firm, in a position that is consistent with each student's course of study and ambitions.

The IYT scholarships are worth € 10.800 per 9 months and include exemption from tuition fees.

「𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲」2026-2027學年獎學金計劃現正接受申請。此計劃旨在推動意大利高等教育體系的國際化發展，並促進大學與企業之間的協同合作。意大利外交與國際合作部、意大利對外貿易委員會（ITA）及Uni-Italia現為來自23個指定國家的海外學生提供獎學金，鼓勵有意修讀碩士或深造課程的學生申請。參與計劃的24所意大利大學共提供超過240個課程，涵蓋以下範疇：
• 工程及先進科技
• 建築及設計
• 經濟及管理

超過240個課程可供選擇。所有課程均以英語授課。

完成課程後，學生必須於意大利的公司、商會或相關機構進行實習，而實習職位須與其修讀課程及個人職業發展方向相符。

Today, 22 April, we celebrate the 9th edition of Italian Research Day in the World.

Established in 2018, the Italian Research Day in the World promotes Italy’s excellence in science and technology, highlighting the global impact of Italian researchers and fostering international collaboration.

On this occasion, events on topics such as artificial intelligence, space, and environmental protection are held worldwide while strengthening ties with Italian researchers abroad.

「全球意大利研究日」於2018年設立，旨在向全球推廣意大利在科學與技術領域的卓越成就，突顯意大利研究人員對國際科學的貢獻，並促進科研成果的交流與合作。該倡議由意大利外交部、駐外大使及領事館、以及科研機構共同支持，進一步鞏固意大利在創新與高質量科研方面的國際形象。

Presented by Mercato Gourmet in partnership of the Consulate General of Italy, this session offers an opportunity to observe traditional culinary techniques from Romagna. Participants will learn the preparation of authentic Piada from Emilia-Romagna as part of the programme leading to Maestri del Gusto 2026.

As part of longstanding cooperation between the University of Bari Aldo Moro and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a seminar entitled “Smart Solutions for Sustainable Cities and Societies” was held in Hong Kong on the occasion of Italian Research Day (Giornata delle Ricerca Italiana). The event was organized in collaboration with Hong Kong University and the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong.

The three-day programme brought together experts from the participating universities to engage in dialogue, exchange views and share expertise on key contemporary and cross-cutting issues. These included sustainable urbanisation; emerging IoT and Artificial Intelligence technologies, and their applications in infrastructure monitoring and disaster prevention; nature-based solutions linked to “blue-green infrastructures,” and the promotion of healthier urban environments; as well as sustainable agricultural production systems, new agri-tech solutions, and food security.

The event helped to strengthen ties between the Italian university system and Hong Kong’s leading institutions, while offering a renewed framework for cooperation aimed at bringing academia, industry, and public institutions closer together.

In this context, the University of Bari delegation also visited the InnoEx exhibition currently taking place in Hong Kong, with a particular focus on the “smart” applications the city is progressively adopting. These include the growing use of Artificial Intelligence across the medical, infrastructure, mobility, services, and “low-altitude economy” sectors.

Welcome to Hong Kong , Truck World Cup 2026

We are delighted to share that InvestHK, in collaboration with Italian associations and partners, will host a hybrid event on 28 April dedicated to an in-depth exploration of Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis project, a major long-term urban and infrastructure development initiative.

The session will present the project’s strategic vision and examine its implications for the Italian construction supply chain. It will highlight opportunities across key sectors, including materials, plant engineering, machinery, and innovative construction solutions, while also considering the broader impact on global supply chains.

The event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participation both in person and remotely.
