THE EVERGREEN COLLECTION - Issue 02
Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Tsim Sha Tsui. 1989.
Before the iconic curved lines welcomed the world's finest performances, there was a vision — and a landscape to match.
This was one of our early collaborations with the city's cultural heartbeat. Not just a building. Not just a plaza. But a stage where architecture meets harbour.
And the clock tower? It had already stood there for decades, watching Hong Kong change. Through trams and skyscrapers. Through generations of goodbyes and hellos. We didn't compete with it. We celebrated it. Opened views toward it. Let the new landscape bow to its quiet presence.
Decades later, the bell tower still marks time. And the plaza below it is still full of life.
This is landscape architecture. Not erasing the past — but making space for it to breathe alongside the new.

Tai Po Civic Centre has received an ArchSD Special Award (Architectural Rejuvenation).
A decade in the making. Still at the heart of Tai Po.
Open plazas, shaded promenades, seasonal planting — designed as a place for the community to relax, not only during events, but every day.
Congratulations to all consultant teams involved.

45 years. That's a lot of trees planted, parks opened, and legacy projects brought to life.
45 years is a long time. But we're not done learning.
We're excited to share something we've been working on—two new branches that help us do what we've always done, but better.
EA Engage is about you. The people who live, work, and play in the spaces we design. We're making sure your voice is part of the process through workshops, conversations, and messy hands-on fun. Because the best spaces aren't designed for people; they're designed WITH people.
EA Insight is where we get curious. For 45 years, we've helped set the standards of our industry. Now we're digging deeper—testing new ideas, researching smarter solutions, and figuring out how to make our cities greener, cooler, and more liveable. We're asking better questions so our designs can give better answers.
Leading the charge are two of our experts:
Ms. Stephanie Lau - Head of Engagement and Experience
California-trained, HK-hearted, and absolutely obsessed with helping people fall in love with good design. Bonus: she makes sure everyone has fun while doing it.
Mr. Ringo Lee - Head of Insight and Standards
Experienced Landscape Architect, tree expert, lecturer—and the guy who actually reads academic journals for fun.
Same team. Same mission. Just two new ways to make design mean more.
The Evergreen Standard: Beyond Enduring. Ever Evolving.
