世界文學史上最具影響力的作家之一,《哈姆雷特》中的名句 “To be or not to be, that is the question.”
代表作《唐吉訶德》中的名句 “I know who I am and know who I can be.”,展現對自我認同與理想的堅持。
📚趁著世界閱讀日,不妨閱讀這些文豪的經典著作,走進他們的思想世界!
Do you know who the three writers in the picture are? And do you know their connection to 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘆?
🌍The official name of 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is “𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆”. UNESCO designated April 23 each year because many renowned writers were born or passed away on that date, including the three shown here:
(𝗧𝗼𝗽) 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘄𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 🎭
One of the most influential writers in world literature. Shakespeare's iconic line “To be, or not to be, that is the question,” from Hamlet, reflects a deep struggle over existence and choice.
(𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲) 𝗭𝗵𝘂 𝗫𝗶, 𝗡𝗲𝗼-𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘆 📖
Zhu Xi emphasized effective learning and self-cultivation. He believed that reading has three essentials: the mind, the eyes, and the mouth, which highlights the importance of full concentration.
(𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗺) 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿 ✒️
In Don Quixote, the quote “I know who I am and know who I can be.” conveys the protagonist’s belief in self-identity and ideals.
📚 On World Book Day, explore the classics by these literary giants and be inspired by their ideas and philosophies!
