✂️ It’s the Little Things That Mean the Most ❤️
At the Home Care Support Service for Ethnic Minority Elderly (HCEME) , we provide so much more than just home care.
We help our elderly truly enjoy their lives by supporting them to:
🌿 Visit a garden
🚶♂️ Go out for sightseeing
🏃♀️ Exercise and stay active
☕ Meet with friends
✂️ Go out for a simple haircut
These things might sound very ordinary to most people. But for our multicultural elderly, they are critical. They mean dignity, independence, and connection to the world outside their homes. 🌍
With the help of our dedicated multicultural care workers, our elderly can live a dignified life—one where they can rely on someone who understands their language, respects their culture, and helps them do the things that bring them joy.
A haircut may seem small. But to our elders, it means everything. ✨
We are proud to walk beside them, every step of the way.

🐱 Even the Cats Love Our Street Stations! 🧡
Our HCEME street stations are not only popular among the multicultural community, but also among our lovely elderly cats! 😻
Recently, we met a very special senior cat. She is quite old, severely obese, and living alone. That means she is in great need of HCEME's home care services! 🏠❤️
We were sharing information about home care services with the community, but this sweet feline friend seemed just as eager to listen and join the conversation. 🐾
This heartwarming moment reminds us that care and connection are universal needs. Whether for our elders or our furry friends, everyone deserves support, dignity, and companionship.
Stay tuned for more street station updates, where humans and cats alike learn about culturally friendly home care! 😸

🌍 Sharing Knowledge, Building Understanding: Cultural Sensitivity Training in Action 🤝
The Home Care Support Service for Ethnic Minority Elderly (HCEME) recently conducted a cultural sensitivity training for the care workers from the Wai Yip Service Centre of the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society. 🏫✨
What made this session truly fascinating was the open and honest sharing from the Wai Yip care workers about their daily interactions with individuals from multicultural communities. Their experiences brought real-life context to the training.
The care workers showed genuine interest in learning about:
✅ The unique challenges faced by ethnically diverse caregivers and elders
✅ How HCEME services meet the needs of diverse community members
✅ Practical ways to provide more inclusive and respectful care
It was a meaningful exchange of knowledge and empathy, and a powerful reminder that cultural sensitivity is a journey we take together. ❤️
Thank you to the Wai Yip Service Centre team for your engagement and dedication to serving all communities with respect and understanding.

🧕 Reaching New Communities, Breaking New Ground 🌟
As part of our continuous effort to enhance the multicultural community’s understanding of home care services, we recently held a service introduction session for a group of Pakistani females, in collaboration with the Cook Fit Healthy Program for South Asian Families, Diocesan Pastoral Centre for Workers - Ethnic Minority Service🍽️🤝
What struck us most?
Almost none of the participants had ever heard of home care services provided by mainstream service providers. 😔
This gap in awareness is exactly why we do what we do.
Our team proudly introduced the culturally friendly Home Care Support Services offered by the Hong Kong Christian Service Home Care Support Service for the Ethnic Minority Elderly Project. From language support to culturally respectful care, we are here to ensure no elder or caregiver is left behind. ❤️
We are grateful to HKCCLA for making this collaboration possible, and to the incredible women who listened, asked questions, and showed genuine interest. Together, we are building a more informed and inclusive community. 🌍💬
If you or someone you know belongs to an underserved community, reach out to us. Let’s bridge the gap together.

🌉 Bridging Generations, Building Connections: Reaching the Youth 🌉
Recently, the Home Care Support Service for Ethnic Minority Elderly had a meaningful service promotion at Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial Secondary School. 🏫✨
We believe that information about home care services should reach not only adults, but also the younger generation within our ethnically diverse community. Why? Because our multicultural elderly often rely on their grandchildren to help them access mainstream services and information. 📱💬
These young people have the potential to become powerful bridges—connecting their grandparents and elders to the culturally sensitive home care support provided by Hong Kong Christian Service. 🤝❤️
By planting seeds of awareness among the youth, we are nurturing a future where no elder is left behind—and where care is shared across generations.
Thank you to the staff and students who welcomed us with such warmth and curiosity. Together, we are building stronger, more connected communities! 🌍💞
