NRNA Hong Kong and the Consulate organised the Everest Momo Fest on Sunday, 31 May 2026. Guests were treated to momos by 7 different local Nepali restaurants who voted for their favourite momo and achaar. They also witnessed the stories of two Nepali Hong Kongers who shared their experiences of summiting Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha) and the theme of "Sagarmatha: Identity and Pride of Nepal".

The Consulate participated in the Economy, Trade and Tourism Promotion Seminar, followed by a reception hosted by the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region Mr. Sam Hou Fai on 28 May 2026, with members of the Consular Corps and senior officials of Macao SAR.

United Nepali Diaspora (Macao) and Consulate-General of Macao celebrated the 73rd International Mt. Everest Day on 24 May 2026. Vice-Consul of Nepal Mr. Bhoj Kumar Bhattarai addressed the gathering which brought together Nepali community leaders, local and expat representatives in Macao and noted the Nepal Government's theme for this year which is "Sagarmatha: the Pride and Identity of Nepal".

Guests included Dr. Jose Peraira Coutinho, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Macao SAR, Ms. Edna May G. Lazaro, Consul-General of the Philippines in Macao SAR, Mr. Paul Pun Chi Meng General Secretary of Caritas Macao.

The event honoured Nepali climbers from Hong Kong who have sumitted Mt. Everest and was followed by multi-cultural program.

The Consulate-General organised “Nepal: Peaks and Peace 2026” to mark the 2570th Buddha Jayanti and the 73rd International Sagarmatha Day, highlighting Nepal as the birthplace of Buddha and home to Sagarmatha. Mr. Peter Lund, Consul-General of New Zealand, spoke about the enduring link between New Zealand, Sagarmatha and Nepal. In attendance were Mr. Wei Wenxiu, Director-General (Consular) of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Hong Kong SAR, Hon. LegCo members, Consuls-General and members of the Consular Corps, travel and hospitality leaders, Chamber representatives and Nepali community leaders

Notice about Internship in Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal

Call for Expression of Interest: MoFA Nepal Summer Internship 2026

We are pleased to announce the MoFA Nepal Summer Internship 2026, an 8-week voluntary research internship programme initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and hosted by the Institute of Foreign Affairs.

The programme is open to Nepali graduates and professionals, both within Nepal and abroad, who wish to contribute independent policy research directly to Nepal's foreign policy agenda. Selected interns will work across five research themes over eight weeks from mid-June to mid-August 2026, in person in Kathmandu and remotely.

The research themes are Strategic Affairs and Public International Law, Development and Finance, Emerging Technologies, Clean Energy, and Nepali Diaspora

The programme offers a direct engagement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the ministerial level, structured mentorship with senior professionals, access to officials and policy discussions, and the opportunity to publish through the Institute of Foreign Affairs. This is a service opportunity for the nation.`

Nepali citizens, Non-Resident Nepali cardholders, and people of Nepali origin are particularly encouraged to apply. Nepal-based professionals and researchers are equally welcome. We are looking for graduates and professionals with demonstrated expertise.
