In 2023, Christopher participated in the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI), a U.S. government-funded exchange program for emerging entrepreneurs across Latin America and the Caribbean.
YLAI equipped Christopher with the skills to take on a leadership role in his community. Today, he champions education and job creation in Grand Anse, Haiti, while promoting trade opportunities with local coffee and chocolate producers.
Haiti's future is in Haitians' hands.

L’une des plus grandes menaces à la sécurité dans notre hémisphère est le blanchiment d’argent, qui constitue un élément essentiel permettant aux cartels et aux narcotrafiquants de transformer les revenus issus du trafic de drogue, de la traite des êtres humains et d’autres activités illicites en ressources financières servant à alimenter la violence qu’ils exercent contre nos sociétés.

One of the greatest threats to security in our hemisphere is money laundering, which is essential for cartels and narcoterrorists to convert drug trafficking, human trafficking, and other illicit activities into the funds they need to finance the violence they perpetrate against our societies.

The Trump Administration strongly supports the efforts of the countries in our region, which includes strengthening legislation where necessary and enforcing their own laws against money laundering to put an end to the criminals who profit from their illegal activities.

Congrats to Vilfort Toussaint, a young Haitian leader currently in Louisiana for the U.S.-funded Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program.

Vilfort is currently in a professional fellowship with the Louisiana Workforce Commission, where he is learning how workforce systems connect people to jobs, training, and support services.

Vilfort has a background in youth empowerment, education, and business development and plans to use what he learns in Louisiana to expand economic opportunities and support young people in Haiti.

The American Employee Association is a non-profit organization, founded in spring 2009. The main purpose of the Association is to provide services to employees of the United States Embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The AEA is managed and governed by a board of elected directors.

General Description of Role:
The Association Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and coordination of all AEA services and facilities at the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact between the AEA board members, contractors, vendors, staff, and Embassy employees. The Manager will directly operate the Gift Shop, coordinate the Dry Cleaning/Concierge service, and provide administrative oversight for all contracted service providers including the Hotel, Cafeteria, Coffee Shop, Barber, and Nail Tech services.

Requirements / Qualifications:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality, or any related field preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in retail, hospitality, logistics, customer service, or operations management.
• Proficiency in English required; French and/or Haitian Creole preferred
• Strong organizational skills, integrity, reliability, and customer-first mindset
• Basic computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, word processing); experience with point-of-sale systems is a plus

Congrats to Doodley Cassamajor, a Haitian social worker and youth leader taking part in the U.S.-funded Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program in Milwaukee.

In Haiti, Doodley has already partnered with organizations such as UNICEF, TekED, and AFPEC and has founded or co-founded youth-led groups focused on participation and civic engagement. By learning new approaches to organizational management, community development, and youth advocacy in the United States, he will be able to strengthen youth initiatives and community projects when he returns to Haiti.
