On 26 February 2026, a commemoration ceremony dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Hungary.
At the beginning of the event, the memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide was honored with a minute of silence.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Tahir Taghizade provided detailed information about the Khojaly genocide committed against Azerbaijanis by the armed forces of Armenia and spoke about the consistent policy pursued by the Azerbaijani state to ensure international recognition of the Khojaly truths.
The Ambassador also emphasized that under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the liberation of territories that had remained under occupation for 30 years and the raising of the tricolor flag in Khojaly today represent the triumph of truth and justice.
Following the remarks, a short film dedicated to the Khojaly tragedy was screened, accompanied on piano by the talented Azerbaijani student Mahammad Jafarov.
The event concluded with the presentation of a film highlighting the restoration and reconstruction works being carried out in Karabakh.
