Duta Besar Sandeep Chakravorty bertemu dengan Gubernur Sumatera Barat, Bapak Mahyeldi Ansharullah, di Istana Gubernur pada 12 Mei 2026.

Pertemuan tersebut membahas peluang strategis kerja sama antara Sumatera Barat dan India di berbagai bidang, termasuk hilirisasi gambir, kesehatan, pendidikan, energi terbarukan, dan kolaborasi budaya.

Ambassador Sandeep Chakravorty met the Governor of West Sumatra, Mr. Mahyeldi Ansharullah, at the Governor’s Palace on 12 May 2026.

The meeting explored strategic opportunities for cooperation between West Sumatra and India in areas including gambir downstreaming, healthcare, education, renewable energy, and cultural collaboration.

JNICC, Embassy of India, Jakarta hosted a special interaction titled “Understanding India Through Culture, Cinema, and Diplomacy” with 90 Public Relations students from Universitas Indonesia.

The programme commenced with welcome remarks by Mr. Bijay Selvaraj, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Jakarta, and followed by presentations on Visual Communication in Bollywood by filmmaker Mr. Sharad Sharan, Yoga and Ayurveda by Dr. Sunil Karamchandani, and India – Indonesia Diplomacy by Mr. Vikram Vardan, followed by interactive Q&A sessions with the students.

The programme concluded with closing remarks by Associate Professor Dr. Devie Rahmawati, who led the student delegation.

The cultural gathering themed The 6th ALS Caravan 2026 was successfully held at Wayang Auditorium by JNICC, Embassy of India in collaboration with The Asian Literary Society (ALS).

The event featured multilingual (Hindi, English and Bahasa Indonesia) poetry recitations, discussions on literature and art, the launch of the ALS community book, poetry competition awards, and dance and music performances by Indian and Indonesian artists.

The event aimed to celebrate literary expression and strengthen cultural understanding through art and creativity.
