Il 4 dicembre abbiamo inaugurato la mostra “Over the Limits. Sport Italia.

What can family archives teach us about the stories we inherit, and the images we think we understand?

For the last MUSEUM FORWARD 2025 masterclass, Rosario Perricone, Director of the Antonio Pasqualino International Puppet Museum of Palermo (Italy) presents his ongoing exploration of dispersed family archives in rural Sicily. His work uncovers a tapestry of intimate memories woven into broader collective histories, offering a fresh way of thinking about photography, not only as an object, but as an anthropological lens.

In an era overflowing with images, Rosario reflects on the renewed importance of orality in shaping how we interpret the visual world. This “orality of the image” sits quietly in our daily lives: subtle, hard to define, yet central to how we perceive and make meaning today.
