What a breathtaking evening at Gereja Immanuel! ✨
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the unforgettable organ concert of János Pálúr. 🇭🇺🇮🇩

Hearing Jakarta’s historic 183-year-old pipe organ come alive with masterpieces by Charles-Marie Widor and Zoltán Kodály was truly mesmerizing. A highlight of the evening was Professor Pálúr’s improvisation on a popular Indonesian melody — a beautiful musical bridge between our cultures. 🎶⛪

Special thanks to Elsa Veralien Pardosi for her moving readings and beautiful soprano vocals, and heartfelt gratitude to Reverend Abraham Ruben Persang, HE Harry R. James Kandou, and the GPIB Immanuel Congregation for making this magical evening possible. 🙌📸

On 18 May, Ambassador Lilla Karsay was received by Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Xanana Gusmão, for a farewell meeting. 🇭🇺🤝🇹🇱

During the discussion, the parties reviewed Timor-Leste’s rapid development in recent years, highlighting the Papal Visit in 2024 and the country’s ASEAN accession in 2025 as important milestones. In the field of bilateral relations, the opening of the Hungarian honorary consulate in Timor-Leste last year was noted as a significant achievement.

Looking ahead, potential areas for future cooperation include education — particularly vocational training — as well as agricultural technology and water treatment.

On the occasion of the Restoration of Independence Day of Timor-Leste, Hungary extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the people of Timor-Leste.

After 24 years of struggle, the restoration of independence in 2002 marked a historic milestone and the beginning of a new chapter for the nation. Over the past 24 years, Timor-Leste has come a remarkable way in building its statehood, institutions, and international partnerships.

While important challenges and opportunities still lie ahead, Hungary proudly celebrates this journey together with Timor-Leste and wishes continued peace, prosperity, and success for the future. 🇭🇺🇹🇱
