Singapore Embassy in Jakarta

A team of 10 medical staff from Singapore’s Sengkang General Hospital, A&E Department comprising 2 doctors and 8 nurses, is currently in Aceh from 6 to 10 April 2026 to offer free acute and chronic medical treatment to residents in Birum Rayeuk Village, Tanah Jambo Aye, and Gunci Village, Sawang. In addition, they are distributing medical and nutrition packs to support the local community. This Medical Mission was made possible through the close collaboration with NGO Global Ehsan Relief, and supports the spirit of gotong royong.

Kedutaan Besar Singapura di Jakarta kembali menggelar acara Halal Bihalal pada Selasa, 7 April 2026 — menyambut para rekan dan mitra kerja dari kalangan pemerintahan, sektor swasta, insan pers, organisasi masyarakat, serta masyarakat sipil yang bersama-sama menjadi penggerak hubungan kedua negara.

The Singapore Embassy in Jakarta hosted its annual Halal Bihalal on Tuesday, 7 April 2026 — bringing together friends and partners from across government, the private sector, the press, community organisations, and civil society.

In his remarks, Singapore’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Kwok F**k Seng, said:

With only 12.4 nautical miles of water separating us, Singapore and Batam have a lot more in common than you think! Our histories have been shaped by similar resource constraints – limited land space, a rapidly growing population, and the ever-present need for a sustainable water supply.

We welcomed a delegation from Batam’s city government and Free Trade Zone Authority (BP Batam) to Singapore on 11 March. Through briefings and dialogues, we learned how each side tackled the challenges of long-term urban planning, waste management, and water resource management.

𝗔 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀

The Singapore Consulate-General in Batam recently welcomed Vice Speaker of the Riau Islands (Kepri) House of Representatives (DPRD) Bapak Dr Tengku Afrizal Dachlan, Chairman of the DPRD's Commission I Bapak Muhammad Syahid Ridho and their colleagues to our Chancery.

Kepri is the closest Indonesian province to Singapore. Many Singaporeans would be very familiar with Batam, Bintan and Karimun. But these are only 3 of over 2,000 islands across the province.

Kepri is very unique in that 95% of its territory is water. Bapak Afrizal and his team visited the Consulate-General to share more about the maritime issues that the province faces and to explore ways to cooperate more closely in this domain.

On 28 January 2026, the Singapore Consulate-General in Batam and our friends from across the Riau Islands came together to celebrate the New Year and to look back on a memorable 2025. At the reception, we also introduced new members of the team - Vice-Consul Joshua Tham and Attaché Nurhisham Herman. It was a wonderful evening of food and drinks, and we thank all our guests for celebrating the night with us!

Welcomed Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan today.

Pak Hotmangaradja is no stranger to Singapore and spoke fondly of his earlier years in the Indonesian Army when he worked closely with counterparts from the Singapore Armed Forces.

Singapore and Indonesia share a deep and longstanding friendship, shaped by decades of regular exchanges and close cooperation at all levels. Look forward to working closely with Pak Hotmangaradja to further strengthen our bilateral ties.
