Our Story
Status and Function
1. The Institute doesn’t represent certain religion or faith. It is a union of diverse adherents who are devoted to their faiths.
2. The Institute engages not only with the so-called institutionalized religions that are established by the government but also with every single faith lives within the people including faiths of the tribes from the end eastern of Indonesia, Merauke, to the end western, Sabang.
3. The Institute is a forum that embraces and fosters any faith backgrounds, both conceptually and practically which grow from the discourse of pluralism. It also provides space for people to discuss their experiences of diversities to later take initiatives.
4. The Institute works for humanity on the grounds of justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.
Strategy
1. Developing research, alternative education that fosters constructive awareness among the people of open and objective religious attitude to pluralism, and also to researching and socializing religious pluralism.
2. Building networking as well as teamwork among groups or communities which are open to and critical of the environment locally, nationally, and internationally.
3. Provoking interfaith groups to be social movement based on peaceful, non-violent and democratic means.
Activities
Interfidei extends its programs over other parts of the archipelago. In other words, the Institute doesn’t center the programs merely on Yogyakarta. The programs engage collaboration with its networking groups. The programs take form as follows:

• Short course in a form of interfaith learning together forum.

* Study of Religions and Society
• Workshop/Training on conflict resolution, peace building, managing dynamics of pluralism, religious education based on pluralism, community building, and conflict transformation.
