The map department is busy today!

It never ceases to amaze me that this chart really works! I just dated a world map with it!
But as a fan of fictional literary maps I especially enjoy the possibilities it gives for determining for which book the map was made.

והמפה מה? המפתון 🌏
המפהתון חוזר לאוניברסיטה העברית ומזמין את כולכם לקחת חלק בפרויקט הומניטרי, של מיפוי ערים נבחרות בגליל.
איך זה עובד? במסגרת האירוע, נעבוד עם OpenStreetMap , הויקיפדיה של המפות, שמבוססת על מידע שהוסיפו אנשים ופתוחה לשימוש והורדה חופשית.
האזור בו נתמקד הוא אזור הגליל בישראל. רשת הכבישים בישראל ממופה באיכות גבוהה בOpenStreetMap. עם זאת, בישובים רבים המבנים אינם ממופים היטב או כלל לא – הדבר בולט בייחוד בישובים כפריים ו/או בישובי החברה הערבית בישראל. במסגרת האירוע, תקבלו צילומי אוויר של האזור, תזהו היכן קיימים מבנים ותסמנו אותם על גבי המפה.
אין צורך בידע מוקדם, רק רצון לתרום ולסייע!
במה זוכים? תהילת עולם! הנתונים יהיו נגישים לכולם. בנוסף, בין המשתתפים יוגרלו פרסים.

This is the list of maps requested in an email I got today. I wondered what the requester was researching. What would you research in these maps of Jerusalem between 1966 and 2022? I always love to see the Hebrew University on Mount Scopus, going from an inaccessible Israeli island surrounded by Jordan, to the thriving campus it is today.
