One year ago, on October 13, the remaining 20 living Israeli hostages returned to their families after 738 days in captivity in Gaza. The world witnessed reunions we will never forget.

This year we mark the third anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attacks, when Iran-backed Hamas invaded Israel on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah and Shabbat.

These terrorist savages proudly perpetrated the deadliest and most horrific crimes against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Hamas massacred over 1,200 innocent men, women, and children—including dozens of Americans— and dragged 250 more into Gaza’s dungeons with a barbaric cruelty that shocked the world.

As President Donald J. Trump rightly noted, that day reminded many of us of September 11, 2001, when radical Islamist terrorists driven by similar hatred murdered more than 3,000 Americans.

May this anniversary serve as a stark reminder of why we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel. We share Judeo-Christian values that unite us—and the same terrorist enemies that seek to destroy us. They will not prevail.

The Jewish people have faced a significant surge in antisemitism.
We strongly stand with Israel and the Jewish people. We pray for the victims, their families, and the survivors. May their memories be a blessing.

In a moment that could have ended very differently, courage and perhaps a miracle prevailed.

As a token of gratitude, he presented Yaniv with a hat signed by President Donald J. Trump, a small gift honoring a truly remarkable hero.

במהלך חג הסוכות נפגש השגריר האקבי עם הרבנים הראשיים לישראל, הראשון לציון הרב דוד יוסף והרב קלמן בר. השגריר הביע הערכה למנהיגותם ולפועלם בחיזוק הזהות היהודית והגנה על המסורת היהודית.

During Sukkot, Ambassador Huckabee met with Israel’s Chief Rabbis, the Rishon LeZion Rabbi David Yosef and Rabbi Kalman Ber. He reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to protecting Jewish heritage and thanked them for their leadership in guiding Jewish life and keeping its traditions vibrant.

באמריקה ציינו זה עתה 25 שנים למתקפת הטרור הקשה ביותר בהיסטוריה, פיגועי ה-11 בספטמבר, בהם נהרגו 3,000 בני אדם במרחק קילומטרים בודדים מכאן. בעוד שבועיים יציינו בישראל שלוש שנים למתקפת השבעה באוקטובר, שבה מחבלים שמומנו על ידי איראן עינו, התעללו ורצחו 1,200 אזרחים חפים מפשע, בהם עשרות אמריקאים, ותינוקות רבים.

המנהיג העליון של איראן חגג את הטבח הזה וכינה אותו “שירות לאנושות”. אותו המשטר טבח השנה ביותר מ־72,000 מאזרחיו. רק דמיינו מה היה קורה אילו למשטר הנתעב הזה הייתה את היכולת להוציא לפועל מתקפות טרור רחבות היקף כשהוא מוגן בגרעין.

זו המציאות עמה נאלצנו להתמודד — מציאות שרבים מדי העדיפו להתעלם ממנה. לאחר שניתנו לאיראן כל ההזדמנויות להגיע להסכם, פעלתי כדי להבטיח שלא ארצות הברית, ולא אף אומה אחרת, יצטרכו אי פעם להתמודד עם סיוט שכזה.
