📍The Embassy of Greece 🇬🇷 in Israel was delighted to take part in the celebration of the European Day of Languages at Beit Ariela in Tel Aviv, presenting the richness of the Greek language, alongside the European Union in Israel, fellow EU Member States and European Cultural Institutes.
Through interactive activities and “Speak Dating” sessions, participants had the opportunity to discover words and phrases of European languages and experience how language brings peoples and cultures closer together.
With its long history and enduring influence on European culture, science and philosophy, the Greek language continues to be a window for (Διάλογος) between peoples.

📌The Mare Med IV Conference was held in Tel Aviv on 13–15 October, with the support of the Greek 🇬🇷 Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli 🇮🇱 Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We would like to warmly thank all the participants, as well as all those involved in the successful organization and mainly Benny Moran and his associates, the Bahas Gramatidis Law Office, the Herzog, Fox and Neeman Law Firm, BDO, the Israel – Greece and the Greek – Israeli Chambers of Commerce.
Special thanks to the Israel Ports Company, its Chairman Hezi Halavia and its CEO Pinchas Tzuriya, for hosting the extremely meaningful IMEC Forum Workshop, with the participation of key industry players, the Special Envoy for IMEC of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amb. Christos Sofianopoulos, the Director General for Ports, Port Policy and Maritime Affairs of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Ioannis Giannakos, the CEO of the Government Companies Authority Roi Kahlon, the Deputy Director for Middle East and Africa of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amb. Benjamin Krasna and the EU Ambassador to Israel, Michael Mann.
The successful Conference took place for the fourth time since 2025, aiming at fostering the ties between the Greek and Israeli business communities, with the participation of a large Greek business delegation, numerous Israeli companies and policy makers, featuring interesting presentations, field visits and 180 B2B meetings. This year’s discussions focused on the IMEC, port connectivity, innovation, water management, maritime infrastructure, security and agri-tech, underscoring the opportunities and need for enhanced regional cooperation and connectivity.

📌During his visit to Israel, Mr. Giorgos Kalantzis, Secretary General for Religious Affairs at the Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, visited the Greek Orthodox communities of Nazareth and Kafr Yasif.
Also, Mr Kalantzis held a productive meeting with Ambassador George Deek, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Special Envoy for the Christian World, reaffirming the importance of religious freedom and respect for all faiths.
In Nazareth, Mr. Kalantzis met with His Eminence Metropolitan Kyriakos and visited the Community’s Cultural Centre. He congratulated the Community’s President, the coordinator of the Greek language programme and the teacher on their efforts to promote Greek language and Greek civilisation.
In Kafr Yasif, Mr. Kalantzis met with Mayor Issam Shahada, members of the local community and Greek Orthodox clergy.
In his address, he highlighted the opportunities offered by the scholarship programme established by the Greek Government, emphasising the importance of educational and cultural exchanges among young people in fostering closer ties between Greece and the local communities.

✅️During his visit to Israel, the Secretary General for Religious Affairs of the Greek Ministry of Education, Religions and Sports, Mr. Giorgos Kalantzis, visited Yad Vashem, where he paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust in a moving ceremony.
In his meeting with Yad Vashem Chairman Mr. Dani Dayan, Mr. Kalantzis underscored Greece’s commitment to preserving the memory of the Holocaust, honouring the Greek Jews who perished in the N**i concentration camps, and combating antisemitism.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening educational cooperation, both bilaterally and trilaterally with Cyprus, in order to promote Holocaust remembrance and education for future generations.

📌 Twenty-two Greek antiquities repatriated from Israel‼️
Greece’s Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, received twenty-two antiquities that had been illegally removed from Greece and were returned by the State of Israel. The handover ceremony took place at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, in the presence of Pninat Yanay, Ambassador of Israel to Greece, and Amir Ganor, Director of the Theft Prevention Unit of the Israel Antiquities Authority.

🔹️As part of our commitment to further strengthen bilateral technology ties, we hosted yesterday, at the Greek Residence 🇬🇷 an information event for the Israeli business community on the opportunities and incentives available for investment in research and development (R&D) in Greece.
The event brought together 30 senior executives from major Israeli technology companies, including VPs of R&D and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), who expressed strong interest in exploring cooperation with Greece.
In her opening remarks, the Ambassador of Greece to Israel, Maya Solomou, expressed the Greek interest for enhancing cooperation in the specific sector, underlying the mutual respect, common understanding and trust among Greeks and Israelis, while Mr. Lefteris Ntotsikas, Secretary for Economic and Commercial Affairs, presented in detail the advantages and incentives for investment opportunities and cooperation in the R&D field. From his side, Mr. Alberto Nahmias, Founder of Techbridge, presented the opportunities that high skilled human capital of Greece offers.
