📌An important milestone for energy cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean was marked by the signing of the Declaration establishing the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center in Houston, within the framework of the 3+1 initiative.
The Ministerial Meeting of the 3+1 Energy Cooperation Scheme brought together Greece’s Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, Cyprus’ Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Michalis Damianos, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Dr. Yechiel Leiter, and Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Energy Moshe Dayan.
As Minister Papastavrou underlined, “Energy should never be weaponized. Unilateral actions and threats, whether expressed or implied, that undermine regional stability, have no place in our shared future.”
The establishment of the Center is expected to further promote innovation, energy security, and regional cooperation among Greece, Cyprus, Israel, and the United States.
During the signing ceremony of the Declaration, the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Papastavrou, described the moment as “historic,” stating that:
“Greece, Cyprus, Israel and the United States are joining forces to deepen our strategic cooperation and enhance connectivity in the Eastern Mediterranean through the establishment of the East Med Energy Center (EMEC). The EMEC will provide a permanent framework for advancing regional stability, energy security and economic cooperation. A framework that will bring together scientific knowledge, academic excellence, the private sector, technological innovation and energy expertise, within one of the world’s leading academic institutions.”

📌In the framework of promoting and strengthening ties between the business communities of Greece 🇬🇷 and Israel 🇮🇱, the Ambassador of Greece to Israel, Maya Solomou, addressed the Annual General Assembly of the Israel-Greece Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing that the cooperation between the two countries is founded on mutual trust, friendship, and shared interests.
➡️A cocktail reception was also held in honour of the Chamber’s members at the Greek Residence further reinforcing the close coordination between the Embassy and the Chamber.
Special thanks to the Israel-Greece Chamber of Commerce and the Greek-Israeli Chamber of Commerce and Technology for their valuable partnership and continued efforts to advance Greek-Israeli economic relations.

We are deeply saddened and appalled by yesterday’s terrorist attack in Israel, which claimed the life of an innocent civilian and left others injured.
Terrorism in all its forms is unacceptable and can never be justified. Such acts of violence only deepen suffering and undermine the prospects for peace, security and prosperity for all.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim and wish a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.

Ambassador of Greece 🇬🇷 to Israel, Maya Solomou, visited the Tel Aviv Biennale of Crafts and Design at the MUZA – Eretz Israel Museum, where she was deeply impressed by the originality and high quality of the exhibits.
Inspired by Hesiod’s classic poem “Works and Days” this year’s Biennale presents approximately 200 works that bridge traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, offering a unique artistic experience.
👉The impressive exhibition is highly recommended and will remain open until the end of November.
Warm thanks are extended to Greek-Israeli co-curator of the exhibition, Henrietta Eliezer, for the rich and engaging guided tour she offered.

📌Ambassador Maya Solomou 🇬🇷 participated yesterday, alongside fellow EU Ambassadors, in the Europe Day 🇪🇺 event organized by the Simone Veil Research Centre for Contemporary European Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
The event offered a wonderful opportunity to engage with undergraduate students in meaningful discussions about Europe, its values and principles, as well as recent global developments.
