🎻🇵🇱 Michał Urbaniak showed the world how Polish violin could sound in jazz.

Violinist, saxophonist and composer, he blended jazz with funk, electronic music and hip hop. He collaborated with Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, while his Urbanator project brought fresh sounds to jazz and connected with new generations of listeners. 🎶

Through illustrations, play and interactive activities, “KEF is Fun!” introduces children to Jewish traditions, history and contemporary Jewish life in Poland.

The original exhibition opened in 2024 at the Galicia Jewish Museum in Kraków. Its travelling version is now visiting Starachowice!

Following the official opening, pupils from the Janusz Korczak Private Primary School at Akademia Kwadrat in Starachowice took part in inspiring educational workshops. 💛

Together, they explored traditions, asked questions and discovered Poland’s Jewish heritage.

They were children and teenagers when they risked their lives to save Jewish neighbours and strangers during the Holocaust.

“The Righteous Road Trip” documentary film, directed by Academy Award winner Vanessa Roth, follows Jonny Daniels as he visits some of the last living Righteous Among the Nations in Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.

Among them are Polish rescuers whose personal testimonies preserve the memory of extraordinary courage under German N**i occupation. Their stories also reveal the lasting bonds between those who offered help, those they saved and subsequent generations.

Honouring the Righteous means remembering their choices, listening to their voices and sharing their stories with future generations.

Every winter since 2015, I have loaded a van with Christmas trees and hampers and driven 2,000 miles across Eastern Europe to visit people who risked everything to save Jews during the Holocaust. I am Jewish and the Holocaust is threaded through my own family’s history. Christmas may not be my fes...

The 30th KORCZAK TODAY International Festival of Theatre for Children and Young People opens today in Warsaw, running until 24 October.

Organised by ASSITEJ Poland, this anniversary edition brings together theatre, dance, puppetry and contemporary circus, with a special focus on Belgium.

Inspired by Janusz Korczak’s belief in the value of play, the festival invites young audiences to imagine, question the rules and make their voices heard. Among its highlights is Power Play, inspired by Korczak’s King Matt the First, where children and adults explore who gets to speak, decide and shape the world around them.
