Olim to the Knesset Through Art

We invite new olim and returning residents to join us for a special cultural and educational experience in Jerusalem, combining Israeli democracy, art, architecture, and community connection.

Dress code: modest clothing only — no shorts, sleeveless shirts, or flip-flops.

📢 Advanced Hebrew Course for Medical and Healthcare Professionals

A new advanced Hebrew course is now open for early registration for Olim who are licensed professionals in the fields of medicine, healthcare, and paramedical professions.

The course is designed to help Olim improve their professional Hebrew and support their integration into the healthcare system in Israel.

Course begins: August 18, 2026, at 08:30
Course ends: November 12, 2026
Final exam: November 15, 2026, at 09:30
Course scope: 300 academic hours

Road closures:

Starting at 6:30 AM, the following streets will be closed: Herbert Samuel, HaYarkon, Yehezkel Kaufmann, Nahum Goldman, Eilat, Elifelet, Shlomo, Mapu, Frishman, Trumpeldor, Ness Ziona, Geula, Nehemiah, and several other major central roads.

Routes out of the city:

Drivers heading east or north are advised to use Eilat, Jaffa, Menachem Begin, HaRakevet, La Guardia, Pinsker, Bograshov, Tchernichovsky, Dizengoff, Kaplan, Jabotinsky, Namir, Gordon, Shlomo HaMelech, HaNevi’im, and Shaul HaMelech Boulevard.

Home Front Command Protection Policy Update

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continues to monitor developments closely. Following an ongoing situational assessment conducted by the Home Front Command, it has been decided to update the civilian protection policy.

The current protection guidelines will remain unchanged until Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 6:00 AM.

Beginning at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, and through Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 8:00 PM, the protection policy will be updated, subject to ongoing situational assessments, as follows:

1. Confrontation Line Region and the communities of Safsufa, Meron, Or HaGanuz, Bar Yochai, Yesod HaMa’ala, Kisra-Sumei, Beit Jann, and Sde Eliezer will move to a Partial Activity level, which includes the following guidelines:

• Educational Activities – Educational activities may take place in buildings or locations from which a standard protected space can be reached within the required protection time.

• Workplaces – Work activities may take place in buildings or locations from which a standard protected space can be reached within the required protection time.

• Gatherings and Services – Up to 100 people in open areas and up to 400 people indoors.

2. All Other Areas of the Country

Will transition to a Full Activity level, with no restrictions.

Public shelters, parking facilities, and protected spaces are now open.

Tomorrow, Monday, June 8, there will be no school.

We are currently opening all educational, welfare, and community facilities that include protected spaces. We will provide an update as soon as these locations are open to the public.

The municipality is in direct contact with the Home Front Command and all emergency authorities.
