Poshan Pakhwada (9th–23rd April 2026), Tripura 🌿
Parents and the community play a vital role in reducing excessive screen time among children and adolescents. It is not just about limiting devices, but about building healthy habits, creating supportive environments, and promoting positive values. Encouraging indoor and outdoor play, family interaction, and active lifestyles helps ensure better physical and mental well-being for our children.
Reducing screen time is important because excessive use of digital devices can affect children’s physical health, leading to reduced physical activity, poor posture, eye strain, and disturbed sleep patterns. It can also impact mental and emotional well-being by limiting social interaction, reducing attention span, and increasing the risk of stress or behavioral issues.
By limiting screen time, children get more opportunities to explore, play, learn creatively, and build strong relationships with family and peers. This supports their overall growth and helps develop essential life skills.
Let us work together to nurture a healthier, happier future.

Poshan Pakhwada is being observed from 9th to 23rd April 2026 with a strong focus on promoting nutrition, health, and overall well-being, particularly among young children. This year, special emphasis has been placed on play-based education for children aged 3–6 years, recognizing that learning through play is vital for their holistic development.
Play-based activities make learning enjoyable and engaging while enhancing children’s cognitive abilities, social skills, emotional well-being, and physical growth. Integrating nutrition awareness with such interactive methods helps instill healthy habits from an early age.
This year, the Department of SW&SE, Government of Tripura, has undertaken several initiatives across the state to celebrate Poshan Pakhwada 2026 in a meaningful and impactful manner, in close coordination with the Health Department, local administration and other key departments.
Let us all join hands to create a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive through fun-filled and meaningful activities. By combining proper nutrition with play-based learning, we are laying the foundation for a healthier and brighter future.
Let us actively participate and make Poshan Pakhwada a grand success!
