NEEV IITGN NEEV is a community outreach program of IIT Gandhinagar. NEEV's mission is to empower grassroots.

NEEV is the flagship social initiative of IIT Gandhinagar, one of the nationโ€™s top educational institutions which develops leaders with vision, creative thinking, social responsibility and respect for our values. NEEV offers a comprehensive training and mentoring program, aimed at growing employability and entrepreneurship mindset of the members of IITGNโ€™s surrounding communities. NEEV collaborates with like-minded partners to achieve the shared end-goal: to support sustainable livelihood generation at the grassroots level.

Meet ๐‡๐ž๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ข ๐’๐จ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ค๐ข, who completed our ๐€๐๐ฏ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ ๐’๐ž๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž.

Before joining the course, Hemangini had basic stitching knowledge and used to do stitching work from home. Wanting to upgrade her skills, she searched for professional training opportunities on social media and discovered NEEVโ€™s Advanced Sewing Training Course.

Through the training, she learned to create a variety of designer garments, including ๐Œ๐š๐๐ก๐ฎ๐›๐š๐ฅ๐š-๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฅ๐ž ๐›๐ฅ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ, ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ-๐œ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐›๐ฅ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ, ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ง๐ข๐ฒ๐š๐ฌ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ฌ. She enjoyed learning new techniques and gained valuable knowledge to take her stitching skills to the next level.

Hemangini also shared that she really enjoyed the batch and the campus environment, making her learning experience even more memorable.

As part of its Quarter 3 (Octoberโ€“December 2026) initiatives, ๐๐„๐„๐• has started a new batch of the ongoing ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐’๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž at IIT Gandhinagar on ๐Ÿ“๐ญ๐ก ๐Ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”.

This 7-week programme is designed to strengthen essential digital literacy, helping participants build confidence in using computers, workplace applications, internet resources, and digital tools for everyday and professional needs.

The training provides a strong foundation for participants to navigate an increasingly digital world and explore opportunities for education, employment, and personal growth.

Although Malek is from Chhala, s๐ก๐ž ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐ž๐ฅ๐š ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐š๐ฒ to attend the training and learn a new skill.

Before joining the course, she had little to no knowledge of beautician skills. Through the training, she learned various beauty techniques with ๐ก๐š๐ง๐๐ฌ-๐จ๐ง ๐ฉ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ž, which helped her understand the work better and improve her confidence.

Malek also shared that the ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ก๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ž๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  encouraged her to keep learning and practicing.

To further strengthen awareness beyond vocational learning, a ๐Œ๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐’๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง was also organized on the final day for the women participants, encouraging informed conversations around health, hygiene, and well-being.

She Turned Her Creativity Into Skills โ€” And Her Skills Into Earnings!

Meet ๐Š๐ก๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก๐›๐ฎ ๐ƒ๐š๐ซ๐ฃ๐ข from ๐Œ๐จ๐ญ๐š ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐จ๐๐š, who completed our ๐๐š๐ข๐ฅ ๐€๐ซ๐ญ ๐’๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž.

During the course, Khushbu learned a variety of nail art techniques, including ๐‚๐š๐ญ ๐„๐ฒ๐ž, ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐€๐ซ๐ญ, ๐‚๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐€๐ซ๐ญ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ž. With practice and guidance, she improved her finishing and gained confidence in creating different nail art designs.

Already familiar with basic stitching, Nikita joined the course to take her skills to the next level.
