Pravah is a Platform for Mobilizing Action on Drinking Water and Sanitation
In the year1994, an intensive study was carried out by Utthan Centre for Drinking Water Resource Management. Factual picture of clean drinking water in rural areas of Gujarat was shown in this study “Dynamics of Drinking Water in Rural Gujarat”. A workshop was arranged to discuss the study in which representatives of about 60 organisations, scholars and experts had participated. Our Objectives

During the discussion, it was felt by every member that it is necessary for all of us to get united and organised on the issue of drinking water. This organised force can help in making policies of Gujarat government people centric and also encourage decentralisation. Having hope in mind, beginning was made by “Pravah – a platform active on the issue of Drinking Water”, with which about 65 organisations and individuals showed their interest and offered to work in the field of Drinking Water and Sanitation in Gujarat. Vision
To strive to remain active, to fulfill the concept and help achieve target of Millennium Development Goal 2007-2015 by maximum and efficient use by all local groups of all local resources to ensure availability of adequate clean drinking water to 5000 villages and 10 small towns of Gujarat and making clean and healthy environment.
