Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Gujarat LSA, in collaboration with Gujarat Police, successfully organized the Joint Conference on "Combating Cyber Frauds: Enhancing Inter-Agency Coordination and Improving Conviction Rates" on 06 August 2026 at the Gujarat Police Academy, Karai, Gandhinagar.
The conference was jointly chaired by Shri Anand Khare, Director General Telecom (DGT), DoT; Dr. Neeraja Gotru Rao, Director General of Police (Training) & Chairman, Gujarat Police Recruitment Board.
The inaugural season was graced by Shri Ashish Thakkar, Additional Director General Telecom, Gujarat LSA; Shri Bipin Ahire, Inspector General of Police, Cyber Centre of Excellence (CCoE) Gujarat police, Sh Ajay Patel, Director, BISAG-N and Dr. Leena Patil, DIG & Principal, Gujarat Police Academy.
The event witnessed the participation of more than 200 officers and representatives from the CCoE Gujarat Police, DoT Gujarat LSA DoT, BISAG-N, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) and other key stakeholders, reflecting a whole-of-government approach towards strengthening the fight against cyber frauds.
A key highlight of the inaugural session was the launch of the Sanchar Saathi Booklet in Gujarati, aimed at promoting public awareness on cyber fraud prevention, digital safety, and citizen-centric telecom security initiatives.
The conference featured keynote addresses, expert technical sessions, and panel discussions on emerging cyber fraud trends, telecom-enabled financial frauds, inter-agency coordination, digital evidence, investigation and prosecution strategies, and the use of emerging technologies to enhance conviction rates.
The conference served as a valuable platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and policy dialogue, reaffirming the collective commitment of the Department of Telecommunications, Gujarat LSA and Gujarat Police, along with all participating stakeholders, to build a resilient ecosystem for preventing cyber-enabled financial crimes and ensuring a safer and more secure digital environment for citizens.
