We are proud to share that Dr. Kishan Singh, Associate Professor & Head, Eva College of Ayurved, Supedi, Rajkot delivered a guest lecture on 29-05-2026 for the PG Scholars of Govt. Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor.
His session on *“IT Applications in Ayurveda Research & Clinical Practice”* provided valuable insights on how technology is transforming documentation, research methodology, and patient care in Ayurveda.

*Hon’able Deputy Chief Minister visited GAMC Akhnoor*
Today on 16-05-2026, Shri Surinder Choudhary, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, J&K along with Hon’ble MLA Akhnoor, Sh. Mohan Lal Bhagat visited, Govt. Ayurvedic Medical College Akhnoor, Jammu to review the progress of construction work of Hostels in the premises of institution.
The visit was accompanied by the Assistant Director, Dr. Rakesh Raina, Nodal Officer/MO, Dr. Paramjeet Puri, Superintendent Engineer and Executive Engineer concerned, along with other officials associated with the project. During the inspection, the Deputy Chief Minister assessed the pace and quality of the construction work and issued necessary directions for timely completion of the hostels with all required facilities and quality standards.
The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister interacted with faculty and PG Scholars. The PG scholars highlighted the difficulties being faced due to the delay in release of stipend and requested early redressal of the issue. The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the concerns raised by the PG Scholars and assured that the matter would be examined sympathetically for appropriate resolution at the earliest. Dr. Aman Gupta and faculty members highlighted regarding the establishment of a second Ayurvedic College at Jammu. The Directorate of Ayush assured full cooperation and support for the proposed initiative and expressed commitment towards the development and expansion of Ayurvedic education in the Union Territory

*Medical Camp Organised by GAMC Akhnoor*
Under the able guidance of Principal GAMC Akhnoor a free Medical Camp was organised at Tacharwan, Akhnoor on 12-05-2026. The main initiative aimed to provide awareness and promote wellness among general community. In the camp Dr. Twinkle Gupta Dr. Sheetal, Dr. Poonam Gupta, Dr. karishma kapoor and PG Scholars Dr. Bhanu Priya, Dr. Sagrecca, Dr. Shivom, Dr. Shivangi department of kayachiktsa, Sh. Sayam and Ayushman had rendered their valuable services. In the camp 234 beneficiarie examined and fee medicines were distributed.

Under the able guidance of faculty of Post Graduate Department of Kaumarbhritya, a Seminar was held in the Seminar Hall, GAMC Akhnoor where in Dr. Shriya Pandita, PG Scholar, presented on "Grahni Dosha in Children," shedding light on its etiopathogenesis and effective management strategies rooted in Ayurveda. The session featured a vibrant Q&A with esteemed faculty. Dr. Sudheer Sharma emphasized the pivotal role of Agni in Grahni dosha, while Dr. Sneha Gutakar discussed key aspects of differential diagnosis for gastrointestinal disorders. These discussions enriched the session, emphasizing practical applications in Ayurvedic pediatrics.
The seminar reinforced the department's commitment to advancing knowledge in Kaumarbhritya and promoting holistic child health through traditional wisdom.

A Seminar was held in the Post Graduate Department of Kaumarbhritya, where in Dr. Shivalika Sharma, PG Scholar Department of Kaumarbhritya presented on topic a clinical study to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Bala Rogantak Rasa in the management of Kasa in children, focused on addressing the high recurrence rate of pediatric respiratory distress and the therapeutic potential of this relatively unexplored herbomineral formulation.
The session was enriched by the scholarly interventions of Dr. Sneha Gutakar and Dr. Sudheer Sharma asked about the dosage and treatment and provided critical insights into the administration of Rasa Aushadhi in pediatric practice. The seminar, attended by all PG Scholars, Department of Kaumarbhritya with valuable expert recommendations for future clinical research.

On 7th May 2026, the Department of Agad Ta**ra, Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor, under the Nasha Mukti Drive, conducted an awareness program at Government High School, Kotli, Akhnoor.
The program was organized by Dr. Harmeet Kour, Associate Professor, and Dr. Sreekala Vijayan, Assistant Professor. Interns Shubam and Samiti actively participated by delivering informative speeches, highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The session was well-received by the students and aimed at fostering awareness and responsible decision-making among the youth.

Report of Field Visit
The students of Government Ayurvedic Medical College (GAMC), Akhnoor visited Fortune Pharmacy and IIIM Jammu on 6th and 7th May 2026 as part of an educational field visit organized jointly by the Department of Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana and the Department of Dravyaguna.
The visit was conducted with the objective of providing practical exposure to students regarding:
Manufacturing processes of Ayurvedic medicines
Quality control and quality assurance procedures
Identification of medicinal plants
Working and demonstration of distillation apparatus and extraction techniques
During the visit, the students observed various pharmaceutical procedures and interacted with experts to understand modern as well as traditional aspects of drug manufacturing and medicinal plant research.

Under Nasha Mukht Abhiyaan an awareness camp/lecture organised at Govt. High School, Barui, Akhnoor on 06-05-2026 by the the department of Kaumarbhritya, where in Dr. Sudheer Sharma, Assistant Professor, GAMC, Dr. Riya Chadha and Dr. Shriya Pandita actively participated and highlighted the importance of such awareness programs.
In the camp, Dr. Sudheer told that Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan is an initiative by J&K, UT, Government to address the growing menace of drug abuse, especially among youth and the main objective of campaign is to protect young minds, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and building a strong, drug-free society through education and community participation and Dr. Riya and Dr. Shriya, MD Scholars apprised the students about the harmful effects of substance.
