*DIG SKR Visits Awantipora, Reviews Security Scenario and Functioning of Police Station*

Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range (SKR), Sh. Javaid Iqbal Mattoo-IPS, visited Police District Awantipora, where he was received by Sr. Superintendent of Police Awantipora Sh. Irshad H. Rather-JKPS.

During the visit, SSP Awantipora briefed the DIG SKR on the prevailing security scenario, law and order situation, crime trends, ongoing policing initiatives and measures being undertaken to strengthen the security apparatus and maintain peace in the Police district.

Thereafter, the DIG SKR visited Police Station Awantipora and conducted a thorough inspection of its functioning. He reviewed manpower deployment, inspected official registers and records, and took stock of the overall working, maintenance of documentation and operational preparedness of the police station.

The DIG emphasised the importance of maintaining proper records, discipline, accountability and professionalism in day to day policing. He stressed the need for effective crime prevention, prompt response to public grievances and sustained efforts to maintain peace and security.

He directed officers and officials to remain vigilant, discharge their duties with dedication and ensure effective and people friendly policing.

Police District Awantipora remains committed to maintaining peace and security, preventing crime and ensuring the safety and well-being of the general public.

*DIG SKR ANANTNAG CHAIRS CRIME REVIEW MEETING AT DPO SHOPIAN*

September 19: Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range (SKR) Anantnag Shri. Javaid Iqbal Matoo-IPS, today chaired a Crime Review Meeting at the Conference Hall of District Police Office (DPO) Shopian to review the prevailing crime situation and progress of investigations in the district. The meeting was attended by all Gazetted Officers (GOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) of District Shopian.

During the meeting, the DIG SKR Anantnag conducted a detailed review of crime registration, investigation and disposal of cases. The status of cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was also reviewed in detail.

The meeting further reviewed long-pending cases under investigation, particularly cases pending for more than five years, with emphasis on expediting their investigation and disposal in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures.

DIG SKR Anantnag emphasised the need for close supervision of investigations and timely disposal of cases. He directed the officers to ensure that investigations are conducted professionally, thoroughly and within the prescribed legal framework.

The DIG also stressed upon the officers to maintain effective coordination and closely monitor the progress of important and long-pending cases, with a focus on ensuring their expeditious disposal as per established procedures.

*DIG SKR Anantnag chairs security review meeting at RPHQ Anantnag*

*September 18:* ```With the objective to discuss and review the current security scenario, identify threats and vulnerabilities and formulate strategies for enhancing peaceful atmosphere; DIG SKR Anantnag, Shri Javed Iqbal Mattoo-IPS chaired a meeting with the officers of Police and CRPF at RPHQ Anantnag.

Various aspects of present security scenario and coordination between security agencies and contingency plans were discussed. Officers present gave a detailed presentation regarding the security arrangements put in place for public safety, Law and order, readiness for anti-terrorist operations and other important issues.

DIG SKR also stressed the need to enhance the security of vulnerable targets and to ensure foolproof security arrangements and directed the officers to closely monitor vulnerable areas to prevent any attempt of miscreants.```

DIGP South Kashmir Range today interacted with and conducted a comprehensive assessment of Probationary DySPs undergoing practical field training in SKR. The assessment focused on their professional competence, field exposure in law & order, investigation, CI Ops, prosecution & new criminal laws ,tech-driven policing, cybercrime, and overall field preparedness.The interaction aimed at strengthening professional skills and preparing the officers for effective, and responsible policing and encouraging them to uphold professionalism & service to citizens.
