Restoration work in full swing post snowfall in Kashmir: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated on Monday that restoration efforts are underway at maximum capacity following the snowfall in Kashmir Valley.

"Following the snowfall in J&K yesterday, particularly in the valley, restoration work is in full swing and being closely monitored," said Omar Abdullah.

He noted that the current electricity load being drawn in the valley is 1200 MW, which will increase as the day progresses. "The current status of our feeders is outlined below. Snow clearance work is proceeding with priority roads receiving immediate attention. Two ministers, Sakina Itoo and Javaid Dar, along with advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, will be visiting the districts to review the situation on the ground," said the Chief Minister in a post.

Kashmir Valley received a fresh spell of snow last night, with the weather department predicting more snowfall today.
