🔲General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) is a regulatory framework on data protection in the European Union.

🔳That should mean that all the businesses who are based in the EU have to comply with it, right?

❓Then why does Disney as a US based company comply with it?

🔸If the product or service is offered within the EU, then the data processing needs to comply with the GDPR, whether or not the company is physically located there or not.

🔹That goes for both physical and online goods, from ordering a pair of sneakers to purchasing movies for streaming.

🔶Disney provides online stores as well as streaming services as products in EU, hence they also need to comply with GDPR.

🔹Disney’s Privacy Policy is one of the best examples of GDPR compliance. The two main compliances highlighted in the reel are :

💠Appointment of a Data Protection Officer(DPO): The role of a DPO is to ensure that the organisation is in compliance with data protection rules.

💠Right to be forgotten/ Right to erasure: The person whose data is being processed has the right to take their consent back and ask the organisation to delete their data and the organisation has to comply without any undue delay (before 30 days).

📌PLEASE NOTE: This is not an absolute right. Article 17 of GDPR outlines specific circumstances under which such a right applies.

💠The Animal Welfare Board of India has issued extensive guidelines on feeding stray dogs, and there have been numerous judicial decisions protecting dog feeders and caretakers who face the wrath of ill-informed neighbours. ⚖️

📌Interfering with or harassing anyone who chooses to care for and feed community dogs is criminal intimidation, as defined by Section 503 read with Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code. 📖

Government Guidelines for Online classes:

The HRD ministry released guidelines for conducting online classes for schools. These guidelines recommended various caps on durations of the daily sessions as many parents were concerned about kids’ exposure to screens.

The highlights of these guidelines were-

💠Duration of classes cannot be more than
3️⃣0️⃣ min for Pre primary
4️⃣5️⃣ min (2 sessions) for class I-VIII
3️⃣0️⃣-4️⃣5️⃣ min (4 sessions( for class IX-XII

💠 Presentations should be easily readable. Slides must not have more than 5️⃣ bullet points and maximum use of infographics 📊
