Sharing a little History I learnt some days ago

.......Our Sikh families were there then to welcome him to Bangkok . We held sport events in his honour , and My father Amar Singh Anandwal ( Akali ) won the first place in the shot putt event , and he received the trophy from Mr. Bose himself . My father came from the village of Samadhbhai , Punjab . In the background of this picture is the Victory Monument , Bangkok , Thailand ...........

On arrival at the Bangkok aerodrome on July 25th, Subhash Bose was given a rousing welcome by the Indian community who had gathered inlarge numbers to receive him. On the way from airport, Srijut Subhash Bose alighted at the Victory Monument of the Thais and laid a wreath; later in the day he paid courtesy calls on high Nippon authorities in Bangkok.

The popular perception of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is that of a warrior-hero and revolutionary leader who led a life of suffering and sacrifice and who during the Second World War waged a great armed struggle for the freedom of India. What is often forgotten is that the warrior paused between battles to reflect on and write about the fundamental political, economic and social issues facing India and the world during his lifetime. Despite being immersed in the tumult of the anti-colonial struggle, Bose in his writings delved back into India’s long and complex history and looked forward to the socio-economic reconstruction of India once political independence was won.
